We spent a fun day at the preserve. Our primary goal was to climb the labyrinth. We hiked up to the Mohonk Mountain House and then continued along the Mohonk lake up to the labyrinth and then up to the mountain top. The climb is streneous at times but the views are rewarding and the experience of squeezing your self up through very narrow gorges is worth the effort. Add to that great photo ops when you get to the peak (not for the faint of heart, even not watching the brave ones who pose at the very tip of the rock) and a great day is guaranteed.
I would not recommend this for kids below 12 years old or to anyone who is not in a good fit as the experience might become a nighmare.
