“Not worth the price”
Reviewed 10 June 2014

Nothing really wrong with this place, just isn't worth what they charge to eat/stay/hike here and the staff isn't really that well trained in customer service. It's a pretty setting but not as unique as they market it as, especially if you've ever been to the Adirondacks or any of the national parks out west.

“Average food, Expensive”
Reviewed 31 May 2014

Good: desserts, basic greens for salads. Average: side dishes, vegetables. Inedible: many of the entrees. There was pasta with bolognese sauce; the pasta was overcooked and the sauce was over salted. The cost was like fine dining, but this was more like airport dining.

“Great food and great atmosphere.”
Reviewed 28 May 2014 via mobile

Consistently good food and attentive service in a beautiful atmosphere. Slightly pricey, but in line with other resort restaurants. The high tea is a favorite with us and is a lovely treat on a winter afternoon. My only criticism is that the level of service varies somewhat between the summer and winter months. The additional staff that are hired during the summer months are not always as attentive or knowledgeable as the regular staff that serves during winter months. Poor service can really turn a fun outing into a drag, but still... highly recommended.

“A bit disappointed”
Reviewed 20 April 2014

We went over to Mohonk for Easter brunch. Its a bit more expensive than we would normally spend, but we wanted to have a special treat. The brunch was good, but there just seemed to be little things that were a bit off. There was a good variety of salads, which were very good, along with selections of cold sausages, pates and salmon. The shrimp were large and very tasty. So far, so good. The entrees were a bit disappointing. There was beef, rack of lamb and ham at the carving stations, which is a nice selection. But, both the beef and lamb were very over done. Usually, they should be at least a little pink in the center, but these were well done to the point of being a bit dry. I thought it might have just been the timing, so checked later and the new cuts were also just as well done. The chicken with morells was tasty, but also well done to the point of being dry. I was looking forward to the asparagus with hollandaise sauce, but, again it was over done to the point of being nearly mush. I realize its hard to keep food in a buffet fresh, but at the price they were charging, they could do better. On the positive side, the braised short ribs were great. Deserts were OK, but nothing wonderful. (Sorry, if you are going to call something "Key Lime Cake", there should be some lime flavor to it.) We were seated in a corner, with no view of anything, despite the room being nearly empty when we got there. I was disappointed that, since this was brunch, there were no breakfast items at all. At over $80/person, you would think there would be one glass of mimosa included, but nope. Just tea, coffee or juices. Don't get me wrong, my sister enjoyed our meal, we certainly ate far more than either of us needed. However, I've had better brunch buffets for less price. What made it up for us was being able to change clothes and enjoy walking the grounds for the rest of the day. That never disappoints.

“Delicious!”
Reviewed 8 April 2014

We had lunch in the Carriage Lounge and the bartender was wonderful with recommending specialty cocktails and wonderful fries with truffle oil and parmesan. Everything in the dining room was delicious and the breakfast buffet was also very good. Enjoyed every bite we ate and didn't mind the pounds we gained!
