“Very good place”
Reviewed 12 May 2014 via mobile

My husband and I enjoyed a beautiful evening here. The atmosphere was comfortable and upbeat. The good was excellent. We especially enjoyed the tuna ceviche, quinoa salad (best salad ever, my hubby says), and the steak. Service was a little slow, but very accommodating. We will be back!

“Wanted to love this place, but just couldn't”
Reviewed 22 April 2014 credit card Amex Cardmember Review

Celebrated a family birthday here and on a Thursday evening we were the only table until about 7:00 when 2 other tables came in. The food is just okay and the menu is extremely limited. Skip the desserts.

“So sad, gone bad, new chef”
Reviewed 12 April 2014

This had been one of our favorite places to eat. Beautifully elegant decor, helpful and attentive servers, interesting food. This last time, both of our favorite dishes were no longer an option because the new chef had added soy sauce to the recipe (in pernil-pork- and steak chimichurri?) and the grilled octopus was no longer on the menu. Disaster for the gluten intolerant. The garlic sauce for the pernil was considerably muted and the pork was drier than before. Too bad.

“Cienega is one of best restaurants in the area”
Reviewed 5 February 2014

Creative menu, vibrant place, nice service: this are three ingredients for success and Cienega masters all three. We like to go there with family and friends. My favorite is definitively the ceviche which I never miss to order. A tad pricey but quality does not come cheap.

“Great food and ambiance”
Reviewed 19 October 2013

Went here for dinner on a Tuesday night thinking there was a prix fixe meal, which they don't have anymore.

Ordered the Ceviche and empanada sampler, along with the Palmito salad. All were deliciously prepared. My family liked the orange-ginger dressing on the salad.. The samplers were a good way to experience a variety and I enjoyed them all for the most part. Though I've had ones better at food stands in Queens, the empandas were good.

For entrees, I got the cordero and entrana, which were delicious. I really enjoyed both dishes. Depending on your sensitivity to salt, you might find these dishes a little salty. Topped the meal off with the Sopresa since my boy wanted one. That was also very good.

As far as upscale Latin American places go, this is one of the better ones in New Rochelle.
