This hotel was exactly what we wanted for our stay in Buffalo. We only stayed one night as we were planning to stay in Niagara Falls the next night but we wanted to do some pre-holiday shopping.

Check-in was a breeze and the lady at the front desk was very nice. She mentioned that I was a rewards member, used my name, did all the right things that makes Holiday Inn great.

We received a phone call from her again shortly after we were in the room to ensure that everything was okay with the room. We stayed at the Hilton in Niagara Falls the next night (for triple the price) and I can tell you that they did not call to see if the room was acceptable. GREAT customer service at this Holiday Inn!

We took advantage of the free breakfast the next morning and it was so very good. Lots of options considering it was free and the cinnamon rolls were fantastic. We were able to watch the news while we ate on the large TV there. There was staff present all the time to ensure that the tables were clean and that everything was full and okay at the breakfast bar. Great service again!

Check-out was smooth and no hassle at all.

We would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking to stay in Buffalo. It is not terribly near anything else so there is not a lot of noise (great for sleeping!) but at the same time it was only a short drive to everything you would want to go see in the area.

We paid over $100 USD/ night for a shopping trip in late Jan. 2014. The location is good for outlet mall shopping and dining. Usually for weekend shopping trips in the winter we don't spend more than $70 per night for our hotel stay, but this time we know we will be spending a lot of time in our room w kids, so we book this a bit upscale hotel for the stay.
If you compare to other business hotels like Hampton Inn, 4 Points or Courtyard, this establishment miss the mark in terms of ambiance, layout, furniture, but the price is also slightly lower than the 3 mentioned on the US side. We could have paid a lot less to stay at a business hotel on the Cdn side, but we wouldn't be able to claim for our tax exemption.
There weren't a lot of people when we were there, so it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Staff were friendly except for the breakfast guy on Saturday morning. You ask him something and he gives you this impatient response. I have stayed at other Holiday Inn before, this one doesn't impress me and I feel they can do much better if they lower their fees and attract more Cdn to stay w them.

We stay at the HIEX Niagara falls at least 5 times a year due to family in the area and it never disappoints. Upon checking in, in our last stay we were upgraded to an executive suite for a minimal charge thanks to the awesome Mandi. The rooms are always clean, the breakfast is always the same, most of the staff is extremely friendly (especially the front desk). My only complaint about this hotel is that it is always very expensive (maybe this will change because of the Hampton Inn opening down the street) and the breakfast attendant is always very rude. Being that we are a gold elite member with the IHG family, this is one of our favorite hotels to stay at !

Dear verypikytraveler23

Thank you for your recent stay and taking the time to review our property. We are glad you enjoyed the hospitality and amenities of our hotel. I apologize that you felt our breakfast host was rude, we are looking into this issue to ensure it doesnt happen again. In terms of rates, these are dictated by market supply and demand. We look forward to seeing you again in the near future.

The girls at the front desk were great! Helpful accommodating and pleasant. We needed to print our boarding passes and the computer was down so they printed them for us at the front desk.
The rooms were clean and comfortable ..The breakfast was ok (usual free breakfast)
On our return..we had left our car in their lot ..went into the hotel the young girl at the desk greeted us asked us if we wanted a coffee to go and a cookie...would recommend this hotel to everyone!

Room Tip: maybe ask for a room at back as it faces a busy road

Stuck here Christmas Day due to car rentals at Niagara airport closed for the day. This is the nearest hotel to Niagara airport; less than half mile and is less than 10 minutes walk across the street. However, on a snowy or rainy day, I recommend taking a taxi for $5.00 (taxi fare rate is $2.50 per 1/2 mile) especially if you have lots of baggage to lug around. We arrived a bit early for check in but was gladly admitted in; they had rooms available. Rooms are decent, basic, somewhat clean. I say "somewhat" because we saw hairs at the bed, pillow, and bathroom floor. The room is equipped with flat screen tv, small ref, and microwave. Linens are white, appear clean, but not crisp. Windows slide open (you can let fresh air in). Individual ac/heat. Bathroom is average size. Bathroom exhaust is thickly covered with dirt/lint ~ yuck, obviously vents hasn't been cleaned in a long time. My sons didn't think the pool water was inviting enough to jump in. Breakfast is typical Holiday Inn with their signature cinnamon buns; bacon, toast, cereal. Eggs were unedible - people were throwing them away. The breakfast attendant was scary to approach; need to realize its the hospitality industry and therefore need to smile be more pleasant. Lastly, driveway needs to be salted, shoveled, plowed. Overall, stay was good!
