“Best thing USA has on our side of Niagara Falls.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2012

After researching Niagara Falls hotel, motels, b&b for months.
-- So, glad I decided on this unique Hotel. Honestly, the 1929 Art Deco building was what first grabbed my attention and then I couldn't let it go! Definitely the best thing on the USA side! Room was very high end, clean and shiny. The staff was wonderful and always helpful when needed. Lots of windows for a bright cheery room and beautiful views of Niagara State Park and surrounding area. Can't see the falls from here...but that's pretty well standard on the American Side. Since Niagara USA is behind the falls for the most part!--The Lobby and side rooms/lounge and breakfast room were stunningly decorated and restored to the Art Deco era.
The complimentary breakfast was awesome every morning..definitely a great added feature. After the fine breakfast, we didn't even need to eat until supper time. and Kudos to the Breakfast chef..extremely good at what he does and keeping it all organized and attending to every last detail ! The staff all pitch in when something needs done and none of them are "above" whatever needs done at the time!...Only thing I would change is the duvet cover on the bed...seemed extremely heavy and had "pilling" on the fabric, which felt a bit itchy to me.
But, overall..a very good experience and so glad we chose The Giacomo on our trip to the Falls. I would definitely recommend this to friends and family vactioning at the Falls USA.
Was a bit shocked to see how run down the general area of Niagara Falls, NY USA is.-- nice to see an old building in the original downtown restored in an effort to revive the USA side of the Falls !

This hotel is just as expensive as some of the five star hotels on the Canadian side, but not really worth the extra price. It is a cute historic old building and they offer a car service within a 5 mile radius for free, but that was the extent of what I liked about this hotel. I found the walls very thin and since it is so old we could hear water through the pipes everytime someone was taking a shower and any noise from the room next store. The buffet breakfast was awful. The guy running it each morning didn't seem to care about his job. We were lucky if 1/2 the trays had anything in them. He never bothered to top up the jam or peanut butter when they were empty either. The eggs were really runny and there was a waffle maker behind the counter, but no one ever there to make you one. It is a nice hotel, but not for the cost and maybe it is ranked the best on the USA side because there isn't a lot of selection, but I would say average at best. We had a jacuzzi room and the tub took forever to fill up. I had trouble with the shower each morning getting a consistent flow of hot water. It would be hot then turn cold and back again. It was frustrating. The room was nothing special either. Just average.

If your in Niagara USA there is no better place to stay. Very nice furnishings. Comp breakfast was good enough. Location is awesome, allowing us to take a break at the hotel and nap midday. The staff is helpful but stays away from you, if you know what i mean. Only there when you need them. The valet parking worked great. I would stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for high floor

There is not much to say about the hotel other than it is conveniently located near the falls. They offer complimentary parking and breakfast, which we both found to be satisfactory.

Our room was spacious with poor soundproof walls – we could hear everything that was happening in the adjacent room, especially the bathroom. No complaints other than that.

This is a very beautiful hotel located in a former United States Office building. The rooms are clean and handsomely decorated in a modern/art decco style within walking distance of all attractions. The service was outstanding and the free valet parking is a big plus. Wifi service was quick and reliable. Rooms include wide screen HD tv's and a wide variety of cable channels.

The breakfest is served buffet style and includes scrambled eggs, bacon, fruit, waffles, ham, cheese and more. It was very tasty.

There is an observation tower on the 17th floor of hotel. Don't expect a view from your hotel room as the guest rooms are located on the lower floors.

Room Tip: Ask for corner room away from elevators.

I'm not sure how this hotel got such high ratings and complimentary reviews. I booked this hotel because of them. When I first arrived, we both liked it very much: staff are very helpful and patient, room looks luxurious and clean. However, bad experience came afterwards: the bed sheet was dirty-it has a drop of blood-like thing and I found lots of hair on the cover. So we told the manager to change. He promised to come in 1 minute. But He came after we waited for almost 30 minutes. He didn't really know how to change the bed sheet. Well, under my help, he finally finished. Then he promised he would tell manager and give us some discount. The next day when we check-out, the assistant didn't mention this at all, as if nothing had ever happened. Well, I am not super expecting a discount but at least they should apologize... There are other small things that I am upset about: the room is next to the electricity room so it's very noisy; the breakfast has limited choices which I don't like, etc.

Anyway I won't stay in this hotel ever...

I would recommend this hotel to everyone. Located within walking distance to the park, casino, restaurants. Rooms were large, clean, beautiful views. Breakfast was provided and contrary to previous reviews, it was plentiful and delicious. The attendant was terrific making waffles to order. They brought our car around when needed and offered to drive us anywhere within a 5 mile radius. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Fireplace added ambiance, but not heat. Perfect
