My husband & I arrived in the Niagara Falls area around noon, on a Friday in September, and we headed directly over to Maid of the Mist. There were minimal lines, and we zipped right through the process. We found the attraction to be well organized, very friendly staff, and everything ran very smoothly. Wearing the raincoat/poncho provided is a must, unless you like getting wet. It is actually a great little souvenir; however, we did not want to lug it around for the rest of the day, so we turned ours in when exiting the attraction. We found the boat ride well narrated, and very exciting, as they take you right next to the falls. The sheer volume of water flowing over the falls and the roar of the falls is just awe inspiring. We loved every minute of it!

Same trip from NY or Canadian Side. Well worth the time and money. Try to get on the upper deck right side of the boat for best views and experience.

the tour was a very nice experience. The steamer takes you close to the base of the falls along the US canada border line. The water is beautiful and the falls are majestic and grand. Here is where you cna fully appreciate the beauty of the falls. Souvenir poncho and sandals provided.

This attraction is definately worth the money. We took our daughters ages 8 and 11, and we all had a great time. I was worried we would get soaked and it would be a bumpy ride, but we stood on the bottom deck by the railing the entire ride and it was smooth sailing. We opted to keep the poncho's on, so we didn't get wet underneath. The line looked really long to get on, but it only took us 15 minutes from ticket purchase to boarding.

The boat takes you in front of the American Falls and that was cool. But the boat takes right to the middle of the Horseshoe falls. I mean you are right in the middle - seemed like you were only ten feet from the falls. It was very exciting and you must do this in your lifetime.

You do get a little wet, the wind and water from the falls was impressive.

TIP: with the Maid of the Mist tour you also have the oppurtunity to walk next to the American falls. I mean you are right next to them. If you do this you would be able to skip the Cave in the Winds attraction. The Cave in the Winds is impressive but it is another $11.
