Spent the weekend at a hockey tournament in Niagara Falls. During spare time we enjoyed the Maid of the Mist attraction. There were more people on the Canadian side, but I can't imagine that they had more fun that we did. Kids loved. It was a warmer day for October.

A once in a lifetime adventure, FOR SURE ! The staff issues blue rain slickers to wear on the boat trip into the bottom of the falls.... they help some, but not completely. If you absolutely don't want to enjoy the FULL EXPERIENCE of the falls, then do not choose a spot on the outside edge of the boat or on top....the water the boat has to navigate in is very rough, the boat pitches a bit, but nothing frightening. What an incredible experience to be so close to the full force of Mother Nature as the falls hit the bottom ! So put on your Smurfy Blue rain slicker, bring your camera and don't bother with the hair spray !!! You'll be very wet, but smiling when this boat ride ends !

This trip has 3 parts
1) Observatory tower : This gives fantastic views of Nigara falls from Top view, the Rainbow bridge that connects Canada and US. In the whole trip this is the most picturesque point and click as many memories as you can when you are still dry... :)

2) the Maid : Once you step out of the US land border in to the Maid boat, you have view points all around you. and as the maid takes its journey in to the horse shoe fall, you will experience the best of Niagara falls. you are surrounded by almost 270 degrees of falls around you and the mist fills the boat and you. and this is the best expefrience one can get in Niagara..

3) Below the falls:
After your trip, you can try to feel the chillness of niagara by walking towards the rocks at bottom of falls. there you experience the intensity with which the falls kiss the land..

Overall for the $$ the you pay, the experience you get is awesome...
If you are in Niagara, don's miss this..
If you are not in Niagara, its worth visiting for this (and cave of winds too :) )

You cannot go all the way to Niagara Falls and not take the boat ride. Yes, your hair and shoes will be wet, but it's one of those life experiences that's worth any momentary discomfort. Hint - tie the slicker between your legs at the hem to prevent additional splashing. And, walk up the steps along the falls when you're done. Why not?
