“You just have to do it.”
Reviewed 3 August 2014

TIP: Part of the Discovery Pass.
TIP: Bring along a windbreaker to wear under your fashionable blue poncho.
TIP: Try to be in the front of the boat.

If you go to Niagara Falls, you have to do Maid of the Mist. It is included as part of the Discovery Pass so if you plan on being in the park and doing all the main attractions such as Cave of the Winds and the IMAX film in the Discovery Center, it's more economical to purchase the Pass. You will get wet so consider wearing a windbreaker under the billowing blue poncho aka trash bad that they give you. There are even junior sizes. If you are lucky, or unlucky depending on how you look at it, you might be in the front of your group waiting for the next boat to load. If that's the case, try and get to the front of the boat for the biggest effect. Like the first car on a rollercoster. if it's windy out, you'll need more than luck to stay dry hence the windbreaker. All my teenage daughter could do was yell: Not the hair! Not the makeup! I think you get the picture.

“Thoroughly wet and wonderful”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

This is the ultimate tourist experience at Niagara falls. They give you a plastic raincoat and take the boat up close to the roaring falls. The sound is deafening. The same company operates tours on each side of the falls. Maid of the Mist is the US side and Hornblower is on the Canadian side. A do-not-miss experience.

“A must see when in Niagara Falls!”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

This is just one of those things you must do when visiting Niagara Falls! You get to see both the American and Canadian Falls from a very unique perspective. Raincoats are provided, but you do get a little misty! The cost is $17 usd for adults and well worth the price!

“Maid of the Midst Tip”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

Our tour guide told us to tie the poncho in a small know at the bottom and it kept it from blowing up over our clothes. Really worked to stay dry. Great fun on the boat. My Otter Waterproof phone case really worked but I needed wipers for my glasses, I just took them off as we edged closed to the Falls. Fun Fun
