“Off the beaten path but well worth the trip!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 October 2012 via mobile

Stopped in here for breakfast on the advice of relatives who live in the area. It's not a really big place and it was packed with locals when we arrived. The food was excellent, the service was courteous and prompt and the prices fantastic! Where else can you get an omelet and toast for $3.50?? The coffee was great too. As others have noted, the owner makes the rounds and greets all the patrons...... A nice touch!

“Don't Miss This Place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2012

This place was recommended by the hotel where friends were staying. What a wonderful recommendation!! It was filled with regulars, which was a sign that it was "the place to be". The food was fantastic! Servings are huge so, for example, if you're ordering the french toast, which I did, order the single slice, which is more than filling!! And tasty!!! My husband got the pancakes and was stuffed - and smiling!! Loved the fact that the owner came around to every table and greeted the patrons with a smile or a pat on the back, really making you feel "at home" in his home. Wish we had known about this place before. We would definitely been there every day for breakfast! Will be sure to get there the next time we visit the area. Don't miss it. It will be your loss, for sure!

“Regulars at 900 Miles”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 May 2012

You know how you look for restaurants that locals patronize when in a new city? Well this is one of them. We found this gem, desperate for something fresh and original in Niagara. Located just off Pine St. In an old strip mall, the Marketside is easy to miss. If so, it is your loss. Open for breakfast and lunch, the Marketside features all freshly made food with an Italian flair. The owner came out to talk everyday, and he spoke to everyone in the place. The wait staff is experienced (one has 25 years at this restaurant) and the food is outstanding. On my various visits, i had a hamburger, an omellette, French toast, and the Sal Magle. Each of them were among the best I ever had. Add reasonable pricing and you have a gem. We signed the tourist book, but soon felt like regulars.

“A wonderful, inexpensive place for breakfast or brunch!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 April 2012

This review is a few months after the fact. But I can't imagine the place has changed too much, nor that my memory could be so distorted.

On a recent winter getaway to Niagara Falls, NY with my significant other, I found myself craving a good, down home breakfast. We looked around at the options; a nearby Denny's, a couple of coffee shops, McDonald's, the casino, and a free breakfast at our hotel didn't seem to appeal to me for a multitude of reasons. Finally, we stumbled upon a relatively unadvertised, secluded Mom & Pop place called The Marketside. If you really aren't looking for it, you won't find it since it is overwhelmed by the surrounding stores and a McDonald's. Rest assured if you are in the parking lot to the right of Mickey D's, you're there.

The food is simple, tasty, breakfast fare; eggs, toast, sausage, hotcakes, omelets, oatmeal, etc... but there are even a few low-fat items and it's at fantastic prices. Two people could easily get out for under $12.00. It is a smaller space so it's not a lingering type of establishment but we went in around 10:30 or 11:00 am and there was no wait. In my opinion it's due only to the fact that it isn't well advertised or "obviously" located. The owner even came out and greeted us. My spouse is Thai and even he was pleased.

Get your breakfast on!
