“Good value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 November 2011

Just stayed 2 nights over Veteran's Day. Clean, basic room, great location about 2 blocks from Falls, across road from Seneca casino, staff were very nice/friendly. Although we did not go in it, the pool looked very nice and clean (you could smell the chlorine!) and water was circulating. Had a view of the Falls/Canada and we were able to watch the Winter Festival of Lights fireworks from our room. Buffet breakfast was very good. Bar had ice cold beer for a good price!! Presently doing remodeling on I believe the 2nd floor (we were on the 5th). Would definitely stay again if we return to the area.

Room Tip: If you can, get a room on a high floor (4th or above) facing the Falls/Canada!

I agree with other reviews, this is the worst Holiday Inn at which I've ever stayed. The halls are dark and the carpet so worn there were large rips in several places. The sheets and linens were extremely worn and stained. Bathroom was moldy. I stay at a lot of Holiday Inns every year so I didn't review the Trip Advisor reviews in advance. Big Mistake.

My husband and I (mid 30's) stayed here for a weekend in Niagara Falls in October .The parking at this hotel is free and we rented a car from the airport and made it to the hotel in less than 30 minutes. The staff was friendly and accommodating and were able to check us in at 1:00 rather than the 4pm scheduled time which was very helpful. The state park is a very close walk and the Maid of the Mist is easily accessible. There were not many people in the area so we didnt have too wait long for the boat. The rainbow bridge to Canada is a very short walk as well so once we were here we did not need the rental car. You have to pay 50 cents when you walk back from Canada so make sure you have change for the turnstile. Hotel lounge was a nice place for drinks, try the pumpkin martini if you are there in the fall season. Another MUST try is the mac and cheese with Gouda- it was by far the best mac and cheese I have ever had. On to address the room itself...I was a little skeptical about the other reviews and was nervous we might have a disgusting room. It was definitely the worst maintained hotel we have ever stayed in but we are nice to paying more for a room and were going for a cheaper weekend away. It was not inhabitable, it just had peeling paint, water damage, and the wood floors in the room were coming up. There was construction going on in the 3rd floor which didn't bother us since we were on the 7th. There were no bugs so if you can deal with some minor cosmetic damage you should be OK here.

Holiday Inn in Niagara Falls is by far the worst Holiday Inn we've stayed at. Both the rooms quality and the service were poor. The rooms on the 7th floor were not carpeted. The towels, blankets, and floors had holes. The sheets were stained. The service was even worse. We had a toddler with us, who could not take his nap during the day because the housekeeping were making much more noise than necessary. The manager Gayle Nowak did not do anything to mitigate the situation. Finally, the food at the breakfast buffet is overpriced and stale. The cut-up fruit tasted like it was left sitting for a couple of days. The pastries, toast, and pancakes also tasted old. In addition, the hotel advertises that 'kids eat free" but charges $3 for breakfast buffet. Overall, the hotel is a dump, and the manager addresses the complaints by trying to make the guests feel privileged that they were able to get a room there.

At this price we thought we will get a good property to stay in the HOLIDAY INN but we were wrong. The property really need immediate renovations, it seems to be very old property. The carpets, floor tiles, wall paper all require to be change.
The good thing about the property that it has comfortable rooms with good view of the main street and slight view of the falls but again insist hotel need renovation, even of the toilets.

Room Tip: please ask for the NIAGARA FALLS view room at the top floor.

Dear Fellow Traveler,

I was selected to stay at this Holiday Inn for the NYS PEF convention September 11 to 14th.

Checked in was a breeze, it only took about 5 minutes. We were given a standard room, which turned out to be pretty comfortable. The room had a flat screen TV, small frig, and a microwave. Didn't use Microwave but used frig quite a bit. Didn't use work out or game rooms but both seemed adequate. Tried out the HOT TUB, it was small, too cool, and not very clean.

The breakfast buffet was pretty good but a bit pricey at $11.00 + tax and tip.

The big problem occured after I returned home. I discovered that a check was stolen from my room and cashed at local (Niaraga Falls) HSBC branch. The person that stole my check took one several from the top so I didn't notice it until after the check cleared. The only people that had access to my room was the Hotel Staff. When I called the Hotel and ask who has access to my room they refused to provide any information and the Manager said she could help me.

I will never stay at this HOTEL again.

Room Tip: Don't Stay Here
