Hampton Inn Niagara Falls

We like staying at Hampton Inns for several reasons, but mainly because we know what we will get--a clean, comfortable room and a satisfying, in-hotel breakfast at a reasonable price. Because we are sometimes slow starters in the morning, having the breakfast immediately available is a big plus for us, and my husband likes the fact that fresh coffee is always available. We stayed in a King suite, and the king size bed was extremely comfortable. There was a good sized refrigerator, in which we were able to keep lunch supplies & drinks. My only complaint about the room is the complimentary toiletries--the hair conditioner & hand lotion were in little, square, rigid sided bottles, and it is extremely difficult to get the thick liquids out of them!! The hot breakfast choice is limited, but if you don't care for what they have that morning, there are always cereals (hot & cold), yogurts, bread choices & fresh fruits.

My wife and I had booked a room at a competing hotel, but checked out after our first night there because the place was filthy. Hampton saved our vacation! We lucked out and checked in to the one available room. The front desk was awesome! They allowed us to check in at 9 am [yes, we were THAT anxious to leave the other place] and were as helpful as could be. The US side of Niagara has quite of few very old, poorly maintained hotels. Hampton is NOT one of those....Hampton is one of the very best! Big clean room, great location [can walk to almost all attractions], great free breakfast....I highly recommend this place!

Wow! A super clean, friendly hotel on the American side of the Falls. A small hotel where the staff smiles and says hello in the halls. It's a bit more of a walk to the Falls (a few blocks) than some of the others, but well worth it (if you have little ones, take a stroller!) Blocking rooms for a family reunion was a piece of cake when we contacted the hotel directly. There were plenty of hot and cold breakfast options each morning and the coffee was delicious.

Stayed one night for a family vacation-two adults and two teens. Found the room to be very clean and comfortable. Hotel staff was professional and friendly. Breakfast was very good for a Hampton Inn. Hotel area was within walking distance to casino. Teens enjoyed the buffet at the casino. The walk to the falls was 20 minutes, which is doable, but in the heat of the summer--very long. There was not a shuttle.

My wife and I stayed at the Hampton Inn April 13th to 15th for a shopping trip in the Niagara Falls/Buffalo area. We chose this location since it seemed like a central location and was close to the border. We have stayed at Hampton before (see other reviews), so we know what to expect.

Location: The hotel is relatively close to the Niagara Falls park and I would think within walking distance. The hotel is also right across the street (relatively speaking) from the casino. The area isn't great but not horrible. You have to remember that the whole downtown area of Niagara Falls is really run down. If you want a better experience and great views of the falls, cross the border into Canada. Shopping and restaurants are within a 20 min. driving distance.

Hotel room: The room is a typical Hampton Inn room. The room is a good size, has a mini fridge with a microwave and a full desk. The room was clean. The bathroom was a good size. The bed was really nice. They have very comfortable mattresses and great duvets.

Service Staff: So, if you read some of the other reviews for this hotel, the biggest complaint is the staff. I really don't have any complaints. The staff was friendly at check-in and during most interactions. There were a couple of situations that sparked a nerve but nothing huge. On our way out during the first evening for dinner and shopping, I stopped at the front desk on my way out and found one girl clipping coupons. She did stop and answer my questions, but I think clipping coupons at the front desk is not the best activity. The second situation was during our last morning in the breakfast area. The attendant was sitting with another patron discussing their churches, but when I stopped and stared at her to ask a question, she completely ignored me. I think it is great to interact with guests, but don't forget about everyone else.

There was one positive staff interaction that we had: on the last morning, I noticed that the water looked brown and called the frontdesk to inquire. Two staff member quickly came to our room to investigate the situation. The water cleared up, and we all figured that the construction in the area probably caused it.

Other items: The pool is ok. The breakfast was pretty good, but I wish they had the microwavable items that they have at other Hampton Inns.

Overall, the hotel is good and I would stay there again for a shopping trip.

The staff was friendly, hot breakfast was great. Great location too!! The rooms were spacious-we were able to get a playpen for the baby to sleep in, and there was room to spare! My overall impression was great value for the money, and it was close to all the attractions and shopping. Would definitely go back!!
