This attraction is interesting but warrants only a relatively short visit, It is the main attraction on the island of Sal and has an interesting history. Standing in the car park before entering the site you have little idea just what is going to meet you. You go through a tunnel in the rocks created by slaves and the sight that meets you is stunning. The lakes are set within the crater of an extinct volcano and the hues on the lakes are white, pink, blue etc, making for a terrific photographic opportunity. You can wander around or go for a float in the lakes. There are showers, toilets and a small café/gift shop. A charge is made but this included in the 4x4 trip provided by Thomsons.
