I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel, a little charm goes a long way when you're starved of it. It feels like something out of a Tennessee Williams play, a little eccentric and louche but with character. Common areas very nice, immaculately clean throughout and good air-conditioning (with mosquito nets in large rooms), a nice streetside terrace for people watching, good pool. Food perfectly acceptable. Very pleasant staff.

We spent one night here last week. It was priced well, good a/c, wifi, restaurant was good. We felt
very comfortable and safe during our stay. We were on a 10 day trip thru Senegal and Gambia and found this to be a great location for the limited time we spent in this town.

From the time I arrived to the time I left, I felt welcome. Because the hotel was very cheap (25 euros/night) I expected it to be average but I was really surprised. The staff was excellent, especially the two women at the reception. Always warm and welcoming and very helpfull with good advice and directions. The room was clean and better equiped than a lot of other local hotels. The shower was always hot. The location was ideal, less than 2 minutes walk from the river casamance. There are other local hotels that are cheaper but they are nowhere as good as the Hotel Flamboyant in terms of quality and service, and value for money. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Ziguinchor.

I loved this hotel! It was such a deal for the price, and in an awesome location in downtown ziguinchor. The service was impeccable and so friendly, and as a 25 year old girl traveling alone I felt totally safe! I'll absolutely recommend Flamboyant hotel to friends and family!

I was expecting more from this hotel, although from check in to check out it was disappointing. Worst problem was a water problem. Apparently, the man who fixes things was not working, the problem could not be fixed. When I explained that I wanted to shower and get clean, after a time a bucket of water and a plastic cup was brought to me. Hardly what you would expect from a hotel that is supposed to be a 3 star hotel. Only a few channels on the TV, which is supposed to be satellite, and the window of the room looked out onto a wall, making the room rather dark.

I was not impressed with this hotel at all, and cut short my stay, leaving after the first night. Another factor is that Ziguinchor is SO dirty that it is not a pleasant stop. Piles of rubbish in the streets, very dirty eveywhere, and also a very run-down atmosphere. I would not recommend the hotel and also would not recommend this part of Senegal either.

Room Tip: Room upstairs perhaps?

We stayed 3 nights in an air conditioned room. I would have liked to have had a window on the front wall--ours just had one on the back. Like the other reviewers I appreciated the price, the location, the appearance and the WiFi. I don't think it's the best hotel in Senegal, but it is a great value, very clean and quite relaxing.

Spent two nights over the Easter week-end there, having requested room on garden side a week before (reasonably quick answer by local standards).

Everybody knows the place so the taxi will drop you right at the front steps. Location is good (Ziguinchor proper is tiny though, so you can't really be far from the center), with a decent (slightly overpriced for quality, but portions are generous) restaurant from the same team just opposite.

Did not try the pool, which is quite tiny anyway. The rooms are on the basic side (bathrooms slightly better), and no mosquito net. The front desk team is very helpful however.
