Hard to believe the entire operation is run by two people, however from the moment Simon picked us up we knew we were in good hands. The lodge consists of only five chalets each decorated according to theme. The dining and pool area overlooks the bush. Everything from the facilities to the service to the food to the wine to the game drives was phenomenal. I've never experienced a game lodge in such style. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: All rooms are phenomenal!

What a special experience. Have you ever been so close to and felt so afraid of elephants, lions, a cheetah, rhinoceros? And all Simon, the lodge manager and game ranger tells us is "just sit still". How can you sit still if they look you in the eye and you can almost touch them. And all this in less than 24 hours. Once you are back at the lodge, friendly well trained staff spoil you with 5 star luxury. No detail is spared. At Molenvliet, this is what is awaiting you. We will be back soon.

Room Tip: Take the farmost room and experience a long walk on the dek, especially at night.

We had a beautiful time at the MolenVliet Lodge. The staff were so friendly, the game drives great, the food delicious, and the rooms unbelievable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to see all Africa has to offer in style. The house wines are a definite 'must try' also. We will be heading back there soon.

We visited Molenvliet lodge during the last weekend of March 2012, and had an unforgetable experience! Great people, excellent food, unique decor and brilliant game viewing!

Our visit was made even more special since I planed on getting engaged during the weekend. The staff went out of their way to make the occasion memorable.

I have been working in the lodge/safari industry for some time now, and can honestly say that this lodge ranks among the best in Southern Africa!

I highly recommend Molenvliet lodge as a safari destination.

we visited the lodge the second week of january 2011.
We very much enjoyed those days.
We have visited a lot of lodges in South Africa ,Tanzania, Namibia etc, and we can say that this is a very beautiful built and furnished lodge.
Welgevonden is a very exclusive parc when you compare it with for example Kruger parc.
We saw with Simon our guide a lot of scenes in the animal world like : fighting of two rinos and the hunting of a cheeta on impalas.
Simon is a very good "hunter" when we compare it with former guides in several countries.
He sees each footprint and animal.
Marcus is a great cook and serves delicious meals.

We strongly advise you to visit this hidden pearl in Welgevonden
