The best thing about this place is the location. It's slap bang in the middle of a beautiful, pristine, white beach - with no fake Maasai or hassling vendors for hundreds of metres in either direction. You wake up in the morning, and look out to the Indian ocean. Amazing!
Other benefits are: it's cheap, the owner is very friendly, the food is good, beers plentiful, and (when we stayed there) it was very quiet - few people present, so lending an element of exclusivity to the place.
Two downsides which prevent it getting 5/5: it doesn't take credit cards, and the showers were pretty terrible - cold, low pressure, and salt water. Shame, as the rest of the experience was great. Having said that, the benefits definitely outweigh this - and we'd totally stay there again rather than the bland tour-agency hotels further down on that beach.
