We had spotted this hotel on the way down through France and decided it was ideal for an overnight stop on our return. The location is superb, and the hotel looks veryattractive. The room was adequate, bit small, but had a corner view of the river which was lovely. Parking was easy outside the hotel. Beds were comfortable. Linen clean.
We stayed on a Monday night and found out that the restaurant is closed Mondays - no notification on booking.com site. even though Manager claimed it was.Only place to eat at 9.p.m.on Monday was a kebab house or a Chinese restaurant. We were very disappointed as one of the filters we always include is restaurant. Kettle provided but cord too short to reach plug. No milk on tray.
Only 1 set of toiletries for two pers.
Bedside lamp could not be plugged in because the headboard covered the wallplug, so had to have lamp with cord trailing away from bed. Did not work from switch by bed. could not have lamp by bed if window open. Manager feigned surprise when showing me the room that the lamp was unplugged (the only way to move around the bed). The single chair in the room collapsed when sat on. It only had three sides to it! When we reported this in the morning, a very grumpy manager was eventually raised from her bed. She first tried to make out we had damaged it - but 4th side part was missing altogether. then she asked why I did not call the "pompiers" out when it happened (at midnight!)She wanted me to go to clinic but we had ferry that day. Injury was not serious but enough to shake me, as I have a back problem anyway. She was not even apologetic, almost refused to talk to me and then eventually offered me €20 compensation, which was not really what I wanted. A simple sorry would have been enough. She insisted that all chairs were inspected when rooms were cleaned - even the underneath! Hard to believe. Her attitutude meant we would never go there again or recommend it. Her staff were fine and apologetic
Riverside garden not very attractive - no flowers at all, yet lovely situation.Such a waste.
Wasted opportunity to attract regular visitors. The hotel seems to tick all the boxes for overnight stays but manager doesn't. There is a atotally unprofessional attitude and general air of neglect around the rear of the hotel.
