“Amazing View, Food isn't Great”
Reviewed 2 July 2014

I was hoping for an amazing view (they delivered, and then some) and amazing food. However, the food is simply average. I've had better Greek salads, Saganaki in many other places. We made the mistake of ordering the Lobster Spaghetti. It was overcooked, very little meat, and the spaghetti itself wasn't great (rather, the sauce wasn't great). For $60 euros it was very disappointing. The staff were very nice and we were well-attended to. People take WAY TOO MANY photos up there, so beware of lots of tourist activity.

“Favorite place in Oia”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

Do yourself a favor and come here. Yes the views are great some of the best, but sit at the bar the make some new friends.

We were here at an awful day in early June, the clouds rolled in, high winds were blowing and it was starting to rain, everyone said it was the worst day in a while. We were seated on top and then it just got cooled and we were getting sprinkled on so we were told we could go downstairs. We thought downstairs meant a separate dining room, but it meant we could sit at the bar, which as it turns out they just built. The decor was very modern/rustic and we said it doesn't have a view but we are warm!

Behind the counter was Sophia. We struck up a small conversation with her that turned into a long conversation. She told us about her family, about the restaurants history and about some of the dishes. We started eating about 2:30 and by the time we left at 5:30 we could barely walk. We appreciated all of her recommendations that she gave us, what a fantastic person. I think we asked her about 20 questions, even where they got the posters that they hung behind the bar.

Must haves are the saganaki (fried feta with honey) We became obsessed with this on our trip and here was one of the best. Also, you must must try the goat cheese. It is organic and can only come from a certain region of Santorini which happened to be the owner's relative's farm. It was transcendent.

We ended up coming back the next night for a cocktail and appetizer before the night ended. We sat at the bar upstairs this time and rapped a bit with the bartender, i think it was Drasco? He makes awesome drinks and even better stories.

Please do yourself a favor and come for the view, but stay for the company. You will not be let down.

Thank you to everyone at Pelekanos, we wish you a great summer season!

“Reserve a table for the Sunset!”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

There were quite a few reserved tables when we got here and so we were lucky to find a table as it got very busy leading up to sunset! The 360 degree views on the terrace are amazing and the waitresses/waiters were more than happy to help out taking pictures! Food a little pricey, paid more here than anywhere else in Santorini but well worth it for the quality of food and location.
Couldn't find a better place to eat and watch the sunset in Oia.

“Perfect place to watch the sunset”
Reviewed 29 June 2014 via mobile

We made a reservation here at a table with a great view of the sunset. It was a breathtaking sunset, and the perfect place to watch. The food was good as well. We split the grilled prawn appetizer. I had the sea bream and my husband had the lamb. He loved his dish, and he is picky. My fish was fresh, and light. The meals came with a side, and we both had a side salad. It was reasonably priced. Two glasses of wine, a beer, and the food listed above cost @75 euros. It is a lively atmosphere, so don't come for a quiet, intimate meal. When the sun sets, the cameras are flashing and people don't seem to mind getting in your way of the view. Come for a good meal, with a good view.

“Stunning views”
Reviewed 29 June 2014

We booked a table 3 days in advance so we would be guaranteed the best table and it was. In the corner so you got fabulous views all around. The food was lovely, I chose the moussaka as some of the meals were quite pricey but you are paying for the views so was to be expected. We booked our table for 7pm as advised by the waiter when we booked and although we had finished our meal well before the sunset at 8.40pm we were not pressurised to leave. The restaurant gets absolutely packed so we were glad we booked and you do get a lot of people at tables in the middle of the restaurant coming over to take photos of the sunset so if you want a romantic meal left in peace I would suggest forgetting the sunset to go with it. I should imagine it would be the same in most of the restaurants with a sunset view. We went for a special anniversary and wasn't disappointed. It is very high up and the steps are very narrow and lots of them so bare this in mind.
