“Who needs to see the sea when eating?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 October 2013

My experience has often been that if a Restaurant has a great view they don't need to have great food and this was my experience in Oia. Having been recommend Scala restaurant i tried it and it was very busy but they didn't have the swordfish special and the meal i had was very ordinary. So having passed Karma on the way to the sunset i thought i would give it a go. Stylish and atmospheric with good service and my dish of Chicken Souvlaki cooked in wine was lovely and so well presented on pitta bread with potatoes and salad. Priced at 13 euros was excellent value for money. Turn right at the WC in the center of Oia heading towards the sunset and you will find it.

“Could have been better”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 October 2013 via mobile

We gave this place a try twice on our 8 night stay in Oia. First night was fair as it was late when we arrived in Oia, read 11pm!! Second time we went on a cold night and got a table easily after 8pm & we were surprised how quickly the lamb & moussaka appeared. When we started eating we realised that it had been reheated in the microwave & whilst the meat was hot the rest was cool = very disappointing. We advised the waiter this but he seemed unfazed & did nothing to remedy, but this is Greece!!
It could have been a good meal as the basic flavours were there but a coldish meal does not taste as nice as a freshly cooked hot one.
Service was good on both occasions and we were happy with the house wine.
Unsure what you do about this as I am sure the food wood be good if made fresh & hot, maybe need to check before you eat????
Good luck

“Simply the best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 October 2013 via mobile

Had a super meal with my wife- so far the best meal out during our week in Oia.

The staff is interested in the customer and at pains to explain the intricacies of the menu. There's plenty of choice and the dishes were imaginatively presented and attentively served.

Look no further!

“Went back for Seconds”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 October 2013

Our favourite restaurant in Oia, we went twice.

It is out of the way down one of the backstreets so no view of the caldera. It is mainly outside seating and romantically dark. The food is excellent and the local wine selection very good. Lamb meatballs and tomato balls for starters were awesome, and the lamb kleftico simply stunning - ordered on both occasions.

Only one waiter serving but coped well, even though the restaurant was busy. Best to book if you want dinner as it was busy both times we visited.

Definitely recommended if you want a traditional Greek taverna with excellent food and good value for money.

“Yummy Lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 September 2013

We had an amazing Greek salad, stuffed tomatoes and baked lamb. The flavors were rich and the ingredients were very fresh. The outside seating was beautiful and I'm sure very romantic at night for dinner. No water view, but amazing and reasonably priced food off the beaten path.
