We have just spent a week in Oia, in Lucky Home 1. It was the prefect place for a week of relaxing. Great location and the views are amazing, although, you cannot see the sunset from here. Very clean and has all the facilities you need if you don't fancy eating out. The crowds during the day are unbelievable, and I can only imagine what it's like in summer. On that terrace though, mesmerised by that view, you really don't notice them, only coming to and from the apartment as the lanes are quite narrow. But then, that's the charm of Oia. We tried quite a few local restaurants and they vary greatly in what they charge for pretty much the same cuisine and service. Restaurant 218 was great value for snacks and drinks but the favourite was dinner at The Grace Hotel, in the village of Imerovogli. Spectacular. Try a day trip to Thirassia on the ferry. Ridiculous fare of $1 each way, then a cheap and cheerful lunch at one of the many bayside cafés. We will definitely return to Oia, and Lucky Homes. The best holiday in years.
