“great find off the beaten track!”
Reviewed 1 November 2012

If you like little places that are clean, quiet and off the main drag of traffic, crowds, and confusion then this is the place for you! Not only is it all these things but it is very reasonably priced compared to the hotels on the caldera! It is a family owned pension that offers breakfast and has a beautiful pool. It has views of the other side of the island which are stunning! The folks who run it are very friendly and helpful and keep the place in excellent condition. I can highly recommend this place for folks who like peace and quiet and are on a budget!

Room Tip: They are all nice rooms!

BEAUTIFUL AMAZING SUNSET VIEWS....

Its not on the side of the island with the views of the caldera, but the sunset views were amazing. The rooms were cute, with small TVs and wifi. The pool was nice. The hostess and cleaning lady were exceptionally friendly. For the price, I'd say we got more than expected.

The only issue was with the other guests. The rooms share a small entryway, and the other guests wanted lights out before 10pm. This is Greece... thats unreasonable, as dinner time was usually at 11pm. But that not the hotels fault that they were rude, but clearly, loud guests could end up disturbing you.

My husband and I met a couple in Pamukkale who was going from Greece to Turkey, whereas we were traveling from Turkey to Greece. We asked where they stayed in Santorini and they recommended "The Flower" pension. They mentioned that the owner, Flora was from the states so she spoke English. This came in really handy because in Samos, the hotel that we stayed at forgot to give us one of our passports back and we didn't realize this until we got on the ferry to Mykonos. We panicked and didn't know what to do. We just headed for the flower pension in hopes that they'd have a room (we didn't have reservations). We arrived really late at night and when we knocked on the door, Flora said there was one room left from a cancellation. We were so relieved! We explained our situation about the passport and she got on the phone immediately and called our previous hotel as well as our hotel in Athens. She followed up on our last day to make sure that this was done. Another thing that Flora did for us was, after we checked out after 2 nights, we asked if we could keep our luggage with her since we had a 2 am ferry schedule to athens (arriving Athens 7:30 am). She not only said yes to the luggage, she permitted us to just stay in our room until midnight and she would call a taxi to take us down to the port at 12:30 am. How nice is that? She really helped to make our leaving Santorini a pleasant and easy one. My husband and I took advantage of the super late checkout and toured the island more, then came back to the room after dinner, took a shower, took a short nap before heading out to the port. When we arrived in Athens, we headed straight to our hotel in Athens and retrieved the passport. It could of been a disaster but thanks to Flora for following up with both hotels, everything turned out fine. She is an angel! Other than the great service, the continental breakfast was great and the room was very clean and spacious with a balcony. We did laundry and hung dry. The place was really nicely maintained with a great pool. Thank you Flora!!! You made our stay in Santorini a wonderful experience. We can't thank you enough for all that you've done for us.

Friend and I stayed at the Flower at the end of September for 4 days. We had a lovely stay at this family run hotel. Flora, the hotel owner was so helpful and kind throughout our stay, providing us with all the information we needed. Breakfast was fantastic spread of continental breakfast, the coffee was especially great. The rooms are spacious and clean. The hotel is perfectly suited away from the hustle of the famous Oia caldera so you can relax and have peace and quiet. It's a walking distance to caldera though should you wish to watch the sunset from one of many restaurants and bars. The flower has a lovely pool and great views towards the sea from all sides. We will come back to The Flower again very soon. A great little hotel and a great value!

Room Tip: ask for the room upstairs with a balcony overlooking the sea!

An old favorite of mine--I first started coming to Santorini back in 1987. I've stayed all over the island (from camped out on Perissa Beach back in the day to the fancy private villas in Oia). If I've not booked yet, or want simple clean facilities where the linens smell like the Santorini air, I drop in at the Flower. Flora, the proprieter, is friendly and inobstrusive. Very polite and courteous, genuinely glad you've come. The pool is lovely, and the view, while not of the caldera, looks out over the gently sloping lava fields off the northwestern plateau. It's a gracious and serene place, within easy walking distance to the beautiful town proper of Oia. The driveway is just a bit steep, but you get plenty of traction on the inlaid stone. All in all, a great place to stay at an excellent and fair price. Ask for a discount for a stay of 7 days or more. If Flora can afford to cut you a break. If she can't, she won't.

Enjoy

Room Tip: Simply ask for a back room with a balcony. if it's available, it's yours.

Good location, but not on the Caldera side (wich means that you are safe if an earthquake situation;) Sunset view, sea view!
Good place for families. Good price considering it is in Oia (we paid 50 euro/May). Very friendly hosts! Highly recommended if you dont want to spend too much money on accomodation.
