You're paying for the location - superb view of the Caldera, and the best possible view of Oia. Having said that, the accommodation is superb and the staff are attentive, friendly and efficient. Breakfast is peerless, and you are treated like royalty.
The best approach is to plan to stay in the accommodation as much as possible to get the best value, and there can really be few places in the world where you can sit on your balcony all day and just watch the light change - and not feel you were missing out. An outstandingly beautiful experience. The accommodation is perfect for this - traditional as well as comfortable, cosy and spacious (The House of the Fisherman). Both the accommodation and Oia itself are stunning, and tastefully maintained.
Do it, even if only once... A perfect romantic indulgence (our 25th).More
