“Amazing view”
Reviewed 11 July 2014

We stayed here recently for 5 nights for a family gathering. Having breakfast outside everyday with a stunning view of the caldera was just wonderful. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and I would stay here again.

Very noisy during the night, uncomfortable external toilette, unattended room, no privacy, tasteless breakfast, uncomfortable bed, dirty blanket.
I stayed at the windmill house which was definitely a no go. Our stay at this hotel almost ruined our trip.
Do not be fooled by the pictures. First of all the room is placed right on the main street all alone, which means there is no privacy whatsoever. Everyone passing by can see you up close if you are standing in the terrace. There is somebody living right next to the room.it felt like a cheap bed and breakfast.
Being a windmill house, the room is located a bit higher from the street (it's right near the street but about 1 meter higher than the ground level, and the windmill is not on the caldera side. Its on the opposite side of the main street detached from all other hotels!) and the wind is very much stronger than you think. It's hard to stand still.
The toilette and shower is not in the room! Its about 8 meters away outside and you have to go down a few steps and open the door with a key. It was extremely uncomfortable because as i said everyone can watch you from the street and you should put something on and find the keys and fight with the strong wind to reach the toilette. The room is really small. The windmill house has 2 floors but the bed takes up almost the entire room and if you squeeze in your luggage, there is hardly a space to stand.
Because the road is very adjacent (actually, right in front of the hotel) we couldnt sleep because of the noise from the passing cars.
The staff at the reception tried to be friendly but there was no sense of sincerity. They were oviousely annoyed by my complaint. When we were checking out, I asked a hotel staffer to store my luggage in the balcony but he said he has to first have breakfast, which is an unimaginable situation at a hotel. The service was totally below standard. Especially, the beds are aweful. They are sloppy.
I asked the reception desk to let us at least have a look at another cavehouse and stay there for a short time if there is an empty room because the windmill house was certainly not what we expected, but instead of giving us an honest reply, they said all the rooms are fully booked. But when I checked on a hotel booking site, there were available rooms.
The breakfast area has a great view but the food is just a piece of bread ,ham, and boiled egg.
No one explained us about the jacuzzi and the pool. we found out that there is a shared jacuzzi we can use after the service hour. So we havent had chance to use the jacuzzi nor the pool. When I made complaint at the reception about this lack of information, she said it was my job to ask first if I was interested in using the jacuzzi.
Definitely avoid this hotel. The only good thing is the location but there are plenty of other hotels nearby along the street with amazing view and better location.

We stayed here for 2 nights last week and had an amazing experience. The location is just amazing, the views from our family room (sleeps 5) were stunning. The layout of the rooms on the hill is just so perfect - we could step out of our room and have a nice private area to sit and just soak in the views. Instead of giving you some lousy buffet breakfast, you get personalized service right in your own patio overlooking the caldera. Its sublime. Its not for you if you need the super hustle and bustle - then you need to stay in Fira. Having said that, within 5 minute walk you are in the Oia marketplace with tons of restaurants and bars at your disposal. Amoudi bay is also a short cab ride away, which is a must visit site. If I return to Oia, I will be staying at Alexander's!

OIA is definitely better than Fira, the view is stunning! Do stay at OIA if you are planning to Santorini and do stay here! There is really nothing to complain about this boutique hotel. Location is very good. 30 minutes from the airport by taxi, the bus stop to Fira is just in front of the hotel! It is located less than 5 minutes walk to the main walking street of OIA which is good. This is because if you are staying inside the walking street of OIA, you will have to walk all the way with your lugagge. But if you are staying here, the taxi or bus will drop you off just in front of the hotel.
We stayed at the cave villa at the lowest point of the hotel with a private terrace and a splendid view of the sea and the cave houses. It is a very spacious villa with a kitchen, bathroom with jacuzzi, one room with queen sized bed and two day beds plus two sofas. It was very relaxing staying at this room, you dont even feel like going out! The room is clean and cozy with many antiques in the room.
Free wifi is available and free breakfast is served at the private terrace within 15 minutes after reception is informed. We had to get to the airport at 4.30am on the third day and the hotel staff is so nice to get our breakfast ready the night before at 9pm. The lady at the reception was very helpful about sharing the info about the places in Santorini and helped us to call taxi to the airport early in the morning. Not forgeting to mention one of the hotel staff from Pakistan, he was so nice to come over at 4.25 am to help us carry our heavy luggage from our villa all the way up to the entrance of the hotel and accompanied us to wait for the taxi. It is not only the location, the view, the room but the service and friendliness of the hotel staff which make this stay unforgettable.

We stay in honeymoon room for 3 nights. It is absolutely perfect.
For location, the hotel is just besides the bus stop of the Oia-Fira bus. At the right on the hotel front door, there is a supermarket. Leaving from the hotel front door, turn right and walk for 2 mins, there is place where you can see the sunset. Turn left and walk for 3-4 mins from front door, before reaching the church in yellow, there is a place where have stunning view of Oia.

For view from our room, reference to the pics.

For room, I stay in honeymoon room which is near the reception and jacuzzi, which is very convenience. My room also includes kitchen with full set of cooking tools. Breakfast can be serve indoor or outdoor. Internet speed is acceptable. The only disappointed is the washroom is very easy to flood by the water from bathtub.

For services, I request for electric iron from staff and they can provide me immediately. Breakfast are served on time. I ordered a bunch of rose with a reasonable price, and the product is great. I purpose in front of my room during night and the staff are helping me lighting the candles & taking photos proactively.

Specially thanks to Iveta & Adif to make our journey smooth and comfortable.

We stayed at alexanders during mid may, we got the hotel shuttle service which was great, had a driver pick us up from airport and go straight to the hotel. The best part is that we got a surprise upgrade to the best suite that they have! The suite has two bedrooms, a terrace, and a private jacuzzi, the apartment was huge for the two of us! The private terrace has an amazing view both day and night, we also get to enjoy our breakfast there as well! The reception lady was super sweet and friendly, she also gave us lots of suggestion for our stay at Santorini, very helpful! The breakfast was great, love the fruit, and it was very filling too. Overall service was excellent, the only small complaint i have is that i wish the apartment is a bit cleaner, cos the furniture feels a bit old. Anyways, I would still recommend to friends to this place!
