“Lovely spot for dinner”

All the restaurants down at Ammoudi are set on the water's edge and all have a great fish selection. Went to this restaurant based on a recommendation by our hotel. Their speciality (tomato fritters) was really tasty and the fish was nicely cooked and fresh.

“Came recommended”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 August 2014 via mobile

And we were not disappointed, we had a lovely meal following a recommendation from a friend in the UK. Great prawns and loved the giant beans, would definitely go back despite the 300 step climb back up to Oia afterwards!

“Go for the view not the food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2014

Dimitri's view of the sunset can not be beat. Everyone goes here and Sunset Tavern to see the sun set over the water because your table is practically in the water the ocean is so close.
Its a worthwhile experience but we didn't really think the food was anything to rave about.

“It was only OK.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2014

Read all the great reviews and recommendations from the forum. Decided to give it a try. What a disappointment!. Their grilled octopus is certainly very, very good, probably the best I had during this trip through Greece and the reason I am giving this place 3 stars instead of 2. The grilled fish is not fresh and is overpriced. The taste is bland and meat dry. On top of that, the staff in general, with the exception of 1 busboy, was not friendly at all. Will recommend going to a different restaurant if you visit Ammoudi.

“Great views”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2014 via mobile

Great views. You're literally sitting next to the water so close that you could drop something in there. Really nice vibe. If you go during the busy time, you should book the table next to the water. In general there aren't many tables. It gets busy at night during the sunset. The good is fresh. Reasonable prices for what it was. I felt like the place lacked a bit of innovation as they literally served us boiling lobster. You could have it grilled but there is no additional flavour (but they do serve you the classic olive oil and lemon). If you like it that way then great!
