This lovely little place is not your average shop in Oia! I was in Greece for 2 weeks, and have not seen a shop like this. It has plenty of things you will not find in regular souvenir shops: from old notes, to antique coins (if you are a collector), to one of a kind paintings, to my favourite of all- a wide variety of old maps of Greece.

The owner, Mr. Tasos is amazing and takes pride in what he does. He showed us his favourite pieces in shop, taught us some Greek history, and was just so generous with knowledge and information. We found his shop by accident and boy are we glad we did! It can be found at the big square where there is a church. If you can find the square (which is not hard at all), you will find his shop. A MUST STOP when visiting Oia!

When you are in Santorini, you will be overwhelmed with shopping options... The cities of Fira and Oia are loaded with all kinds of goods, but if you are looking for unique items that you won't find anywhere else, you HAVE to go to Epilekton in Oia. Really cool antiques; everything from religious icons to vintage postcards, and the best komboloi (traditional Greek prayer beads) collection I found anywhere in Greece. You can spend hours in this little shop, which is nestled next to the big church in the center of town, and still not see everything! The charming owner, Tasos, loves his collections and will be happy to show them off to you. So when you get tired of the t-shirts and the chotchkies, go find yourself a real souvenir.

This shop has a great collection of very thoughtful gifts. Not the standard tourist selection of goods, but really interesting items, from religious items, to coins, to old maps! It's like entering a secret shop. Highly recommended due to its uniqueness and pleasant service.

My best friend and I just got back to the U.S. from Greece- and if there's one memory of Oia, Santorini that will hold a place in our hearts forever (besides the breathtaking views), it would be the 2 hours spent in Epilekton talking to Tasos. We stopped to look at some stuff and quickly discovered that this was more than just a little souvenir shop, but really a beautiful collection of stories, experiences and culture. We were visiting before tourist season, so Tasos had more time to talk with us and not only did he treat us like family, but taught us so much about everything in the store. I would definitely recommend visiting this little gem, and whether it's busy or not, even at check out, ask Tasos the history/meaning behind your purchase. You'll be glad you did ;)
