Words are not enough to explain how amazing our experience was. All the wonderful comments/reviews on this hotel from Tripadvisor were indeed true and my husband and I were lucky to have had a taste of it!
The room that was provided to us was not for honeymooners but we felt it was. It was pretty spacious even the toilet. We are from Asia and based on experience the hotels in most Asian countries are wide compared to European hotels but I must say Esperas was an exemption. The staff were very friendly and accommodating esp. Hassna, George and Mario. Even before our arrival, Hassna was getting in touch consistently to ensure we have a smooth transfer from airport to hotel. Since I mentioned that we are from Asia, the staff didn't show or do anything that would make us feel uncomfortable or unwelcome as compared to other hotels from other islands where we stayed with. We stayed here for only 4 days and we wish we stayed longer (or even forever). George was always making sure we had our breakfast on time. And I'm not talking about the usual breakfast like bread and coffee but a real full one! Oh, and they served a complimentary local wine on our first day. The hotel is also situated in the best area in Oia. It is near to shops, restaurants and other sights. The best part was - we had a spectacular view of the sunset from our balcony and from the hotel bar while having a sip of martini especially prepared by Mario while most people go over the castle from the side of our hill to watch the sunset. Mario was even very friendly to have offerred to take some few photos of us while the sun was setting down. And my! he was good.. then he told us he attended few classes on photography. Wow, super Marion indeed, right?! It's true to what they say - "It's not just the place you see when you travel but the people you meet that can make your journey worth while". It was always been my dream to travel to Santorini and having a wonderful time in Esperas was an additional spice. Thank you so much!

Had a wonderful time here. Stayed four days with friends. The staff were amazing. Very helpful and went out of their way to help us. Were there over Easter and they served a complimentary lamb lunch on the terrace for us. Very special. Also helped in organizing a special terrace surprise birthdate dinner for my wife. Couldn't ask for more. The views are outstanding.

Seriously don't stay anywhere else on the island!!! Wish we would have stayed for more than 2 days. There are only a few hotels on the tip of the island where you can see the sunset like here! It is also positioned away from the main strip of hotels in Oia so it's more private and less touristy. (But not a far walk to all the shops and restaurants) We could sit out on our terrace and watch the beautiful sunset- and it was perfect. People come from all over the island to the side of our hill to watch the sunset that we can watch from either one of our balconies! We also had a spectacular view from our beds! Also, the staff was wonderfulllllllllll and very very helpful with EVERYTHING. Even let us on their computer to change our flights out of Santorini and helped us work out the details. The complimentary breakfast was served on our terrace in the mornings and suited our needs. The room was how they say. Not huge, but what we expected and what they advertise. All of the people complaining about the hills kinda baffle me- it's Santorini! The hotel will arrange a bell-boy to carry your luggage for you up the steep hill if you need. Esperas isn't too far down the hill either so it's not as bad as some of the others. You're making a mistake if you don't stay here! I spent hours and hours looking up places and once I was there I was so happy I chose them!

Room Tip: we had room 101 and we think it was perfect b/c it was the first one you come to (so less hills to w...

We stayed there for 4 days but I wish we could stay for 4 more!
If you work hard all year and need a place to relax and enjoy, this is the only place you should be.
The view is the best view in Oia and the sunset is from our balcony couldn’t be more amazing. The room was really beautiful and clean and we loved the decoration they did for us as a “welcome”. Our room was located at the lower part of the slope and we had privet balcony. The steps maybe a problem for the older people but Santorini is full of them and to tell you the truth the effort is worth it! The location is perfect, shops and sights are very close to the hotel.
We recommend that you book the transfer from and to the port. For us it worked just fine and it saved us a lot of trouble.
The food was beyond our expectations and the cocktails were the best combination for watching the breathtaking sunset of Oia. We stayed most of the time relaxing at our balcony or the pool. At the end there was no need to leave the hotel except to go sightseeing and for that you will only need Hassna from the reception. She knows the way to make your explorations at the island extraordinary. All the staff at the hotel is friendly, helpful and polite. Everybody treated us like family and we really felt at home. For us it was a dream come true and we cannot say enough for the effort that everyone at the hotel made, to make our holidays unforgettable.
We would like to say a special thank you to George. He is the manager of this beautiful hotel and the person who arranges everything so we could have these unforgettable days at Esperas.
We will come back again next year for sure!
This is the place to be when you are in Santorini.

Room Tip: If you need anything, just ask… everyone will do their best!

There are so many wonderful hotel options in Santorini that it was almost an impossible task to choose where to stay. Esperas Houses however, is a great option for a number of reasons. Firstly, it is more affordable than most of the cliff top hotels but yet its position and views are fantastic. Every room is carved into the hill side to create a cave and whilst the decor is quite simple, it has an authentic Greek charm that is rather refreshing to the usual uber chic Santorini boutique hotel. The atmosphere is wonderfully laid back and no request is ever too much trouble for the very friendly staff. I have to admit that I chose Esperas based on its rather 'Mama Mia' style traverse down to a tiny, idyllic cove below and it didn't disappoint. After an exhausting walk down hill, you will find a couple of fantastic restaurants on the water's edge and boats moored up waiting to take you on a trip around the island. If the walk back up the steep path seems too much, you can always jump on the back of a donkey (again, very Mama Mia!)

As with many hotels in Santorini, there is a relatively long walk and quite a few steps to get to the hotel and back from the nearest car park so make sure you are prepared to be a quite active.

I have meant to provide a review of this property for some time now...my husband and I visited this hotel back in 2013 and loved it! It was extremely clean, service was nice, food was amazing (especially the dips/ bread) and you couldn't ask for a more stunning view of the sunset, the pool was a little on the small side but still great. You can easily walk into town to explore all that it has to offer (Ambrosia is not to be missed!) which is plenty! The shops, caffes, restaurants, and views are amazing.
Take a stroll down (skip the donkeys) to Amoudi Bay and have fresh seafood right on the water.
I would say the room was a the only minor thing and would advise visitors is to stay away from the loft style bedroom rooms...it started to make both my husband and I feel a little claustrophobic and perhaps way too cave-like.
This was a wonderful hotel...I totally recommend checking it out...you won't be disappointed!

I have been meaning to write a review for the past few months. Stayed at Esperas in August and had an incredible time! The location is the best in Oia and the staff couldn't have been more helpful and kind. They put balloons and a birthday card in our room on my boyfriends birthday. So friendly! LOVED LOVED THIS PLACE!
