We actually visited Oia a few years ago, but we have some family going on a cruise through the Greek Islands soon, and it made me think back to our wonderful stay. Lava Oia was the ideal place for the two of us. It was picturesque, with an amazing view of the Caldera, and Pipitza (the owner) went out of her way to make our stay as memorable as possible. She was readily available with tips for things to see and do, and she helped us get a rental car one day to explore the rest of the island. We have such fond memories of our trip, and I would highly recommend Lava Oia to anyone going!

Very happy with Lava Oia,The whole experience can be described like visiting a family in Oia. The owner goes out of her way to make sure that your stay is comfortable and enjoyable. Location is super convenient and apartment was spacious and very nice. Super nice breakfast delivered to your patio in the morning....And the view.....wow....

Room Tip: We stayed in apartment "Z" - very spacious and nice, patio was amazing.

My two friends and I stayed at Lava Oia's Traditional Houses in house "C". It was down a steep path of steps, but when we arrived attentive Pepitas (sp?), who is the owner, kindly had someone bring down our luggage. We were greeted by a wide terrace with a sweeping view overlooking the Caldera. The lodging was less than a five minute walk along the busy highway to the beginning of the main walking street in Santorini. It was quiet and out of the bustle of this very touristy, although spectacular, town. One cannot see the famous sunsets from Lava Oia's, but a walk in any direction will do the trick. Every morning we were brought a fresh breakfast of fruit, yogurt and honey, juice, assorted breads and pastries with butter and jam. There was a coffee maker in the kitchen and coffee and tea was supplied. There was a hot plate and a small refrig. and the kitchen was well stocked with cooking and eating essentials. We visited a good bakery, small market and fresh vegy stand in town often to supplement out meals, dining out in the evening at one of the fine tavernas in town. A glass of local wine on the terrace after the heat of the day was also a highlight. The lodging itself was comfortable with 2 twin couches on either side of the main room that served as comfy single beds. We each spent a night in the small bedroom that held an ammoire, the only place to hang clothes, and a double bed. There was a big table and chairs for 4 and the bath was fine except that the shower was very small. The space felt generous for 3 people. The free wifi and AC worked fine. Each day the rooms were cleaned, beds made up and fresh linens left. There was even a clothes line outside if one needed to do some hand laundry. July is hot in Santorini. That said, we could not sit on the terrace from 11 am to at least 5 pm because it was sweltering in its whitewashed beauty. Perhaps one of the other houses (there are 6 in all) would have a terrace not facing the sun during the day. I would not hesitate to recommend Lava Oia's as it is reasonably priced, pretty and truly traditional as well as close to everything...yet a bit off the beaten path which we appreciated.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a caldera view, but one that doesn't have sun on the terrace all day or it w...

In May and June we spent 3 wonderful weeks at LavaOia, Oia, Santorini. The apartment (we had the "honeymoon apt") was spacious and comfortable. Pepitisa (owner) and her assistant could not have been more helpful. One of our neighbors said "it was like having family in Greece." How right that was. Imagine every morning taking your coffee and pastry to the terrace and relaxing with the caldera stretching out in front of you. No need for expensive restaurants to have a view, you have it every day. Another plus was that Lava Apts are not very far down the side of the hill. It is something not always thought about till you see people struggling on the many steps to come up and down from other hotels. Lava is close to the bus stop, car rentals, groceries, etc. Do not hesitate to stay here. Santorini deserves a week and LavaOia is the perfect place to be your home base!

Very nice place to stay in Santorini. Quiet and comfortable with beautiful views. The only negative is the water in the apt was not drinkable. The location was very convenient. The stairs leading to the room was a little intimidating because of the perch on the hillside. The bus station was nearby and easy to catch a ride to other areas of Santorini.

This sweet house is quiet and located well with a good view of the sea, and nearby the bus station and OIA centre street, we really enjoyed our honeymoon here. The boss is very nice, we forgot our camera when leaving, but the boss found that and brought it and ran to us quickly..Thanks a lot!

I have been visiting OIA for 16 years, and can't believe I just now found lava oias! The place is perfect, and peaceful with an amazing view. Pipitsa, the owner/hostess went out of her way to make this visit everything I'd hoped for. My room (cave house) was very spacious, clean, secluded, and with an amazing view.
Thank you Pipitsa!
