“Breathtaking & Unique”
Reviewed 20 September 2008

We cannot recommend this place highly enough. We are a young couple (27) and were way out of our price-range when we booked Endless Blue, but it was beyond worth it. This apartment offers the single best view of Santorini and its surrounding islands/beaches. The residence has everything you could need (wi-fi, cell phone, full kitchen, private patio, stereo, great windows, ac, safe-box, etc). The bathroom is simple and nothing fancy, but there is a jacuzzi out on the private patio, so we recommend taking showers outside anyway! (Our one disappointment was that the jacuzzi jets can't be turned out post-10PM as a courtesy to the downstairs apartments... and Santorini really only gets dark around 9pm.) Marko (who runs the hotel registration,) coordinated everything for us-- from our easy arrival/pick-up at the island's port to our private-boat rental, while Nicolo (who cleans the rooms & provides concierge services,) was also wonderfully helpful, friendly and respectful of our privacy. We spent a full day just lounging on our secluded patio, enjoying the sun (and, in the evening, watching shooting stars), listening to music, cooling off in the jacuzzi, drinking champagne (1 bottle courtesy of the hotel), and occasionally stepping out to explore the restaurants and shops nearby. The apartment is nestled in the heart of the touristy but lovely main pedestrian-thoroughfare of Oia, but is set back just enough to maintain an atmosphere of quiet and calm. (There were, however, many curious tourists taking pictures at Endless Blue's front gate... but we could not blame them-- it really is a gorgeous setting.) We rented a small private boat the next day to explore the island's surroundings. We stopped at beaches and at the volcano, and enjoyed being in control of our time and location. We anchored the boat in a quiet cove so we could swim and relax alone-- highly recommended. But if you prefer guided tours and added company there are many options available, and most of the guided tours pause the boats to provide guests with a stunning view of the Santorini sunset). Before you set off, pack bottled-water and sunscreen. Buy sunscreen before you arrive in Santorini. We learned this the hard way, failing to head the warnings of another trip-advisor review, and we ended up paying 18 Euros for a tiny bottle of SPF30. Then again, almost everything is expensive in Oia. If you cannot handle a steep climb from the shore up to the village (it IS tough-- we're in pretty good shape yet found the hike difficult under the blazing sun), you will have to shell out money for a cab or donkey (yes, donkey). The village is open 7 days/week, but many of the island's other historic sights are closed on Mondays, so schedule wisely. If money is not an issue, go for Endless Blue. If money is indeed an issue... still go for Endless Blue. We have been a couple for 10 years and have never had a more romantic getaway.

Just returned from three weeks traveling Italy and Greece. We are NOT INEXPERIENCED travelers and I have NO CLUE why Aspaki is getting rave reviews ??? We checked in and out within 12 hours. Besides NOTHING being updated forever how long it has been opened I thought I could endure the most uncomfortable mattress, hard lumpy pillows, no space to put anything away except on the floor, bad lighting, no conceirge for help (well barely), the bottom straw was ALL TOILET PAPER CANNOT GO INTO THE TOILET (get my drift ????). That was the topper (bed needs one too) for us to move to Mystique, a few minutes walk down the road. That is a luxury small boutique hotel where you can flush the toilet. Furthermore, at the price of 300euro and up, up, up they have nerve to charge for what they DON'T give you...YES, the view is gorgeous...that IS THE ONLY THING YOU ARE PAYING FOR. But, the view from Mystique was just as gorgeous with full breakfast, Aspaki has no restaurant. My husband told them we were moving down the street and they still made him pay for all four nights...well it was the BEST 1200 euros we ever lost !!!

Dear Guests of Aspaki,

I am Dimitris, and as the owner of Aspaki, I would like to apologize that your stay with us was not satisfactory.

I deeply regret that I didn't have the chance to meet you as I was on a business trip, so that we could find the solution together that would make your honeymoon more pleasant, because this is actually our duty.

We would like to highlight that Aspaki is a small, luxury, yet traditional hotel (and these traditional, cave settlements are the unique beauty of Oia).

Therefore, our efforts are focused on preserving this particular traditional style (rather than "updating" it to a modern style), but in the same time on meeting the standards of a 4* Hotel.

The Suite that you booked is indeed the smallest and with the most affordable price that we have in both of our Hotels.

It has a queen size bed with mattresse and pillows, which were approved by Greek Tourism Organisation. Besides this mattress, we added the special extra soft and thinner mattress on top, in order to make it more comfortable.

As for the lighting in the Suite, it is designed in such a way as to create a romantic atmosphere, according to the design of the Suite.

The reason why the toilet paper can not be flushed is due to directive brought by Community of Oia, for technical reasons, and it should be applied by all the accommodations in Oia.

Our concierge service, as the rest of our young staff, is always ready to meet our guests' demands.

Also, I would like to bring to your kind attention that we didn't charge you the full amount, according to our cancellation policy.

We hope that you would give us the chance in the future to be at your service!

Sincerely Yours

Dimitris Nikolouzos

We stayed in the Deep Blue (not to be confused with Endless Blue) suit for 6 nights towards the end of May. We couldn't say enough good things about Aspaki and Oia in general. The location was fantastic. As has been said before, you really do feel like you have some privacy, even though you are right off the main street in the heart of the village. The view was gorgeous, the facilities clean, the decor interesting, and the service excellent.
We arranged for a transfer which was waiting for us at the airport when we arrived. Someone from the hotel met us at the drop-off point (Oia is a walking village) and took our bags to our room for us. The service, overall, was great.
Aisde from the view and decor, the location is nearly perfect. You can see all of Oia, unobstructed. The balcony, which can look small in the photos, is comfortable and has plenty of room for two people to relax and look out over the Caldera.
Even though we had been away from home for more than 22 days in total, we were not ready to leave Oia when the time came.

Me, my wife, adult daughter, and teenage grandaughter spent 9 days in the Atmospherico unit of the Aspaki Hotel (part of Art Maison Hotels) from June 6th until June 15th of 2008. We arrived on Santorini by air and were met at the airport by a taxi arranged by the hotel. We were then met in Oia by Nikola who took care of the 4 units at the Aspaki. What a guy. Very helpful, friendly, and always available. Kind of like a personal concierge. A cell phone was in the unit with his number on speed dial if we needed him.

The Atmospherico is perfect for 4 people. My wife and I took the master bedroom with doors on each side opening to private balconies, with a nice breeze and views of Oia and the Aegean. A loft above the kitchen was perfect for my grandaughter, and my daughter took the other upstairs bedroom. The unit had all the amenities one would expect in accomodations in this price range (frig, microwave, coffee maker, TV, DVD, A/C, etc). My favorite part of the Atmospherico was the large private balcony with grand views across the water, the caldera and the village of Oia. Because the Aspaki kind of juts out on a point over the edge of the caldera, you get the feeling of complete privacy. No one is close around, yet within 2 minutes and a hundred yards you are on the main walking street of Oia with all the restaurants and shops. Private, yet centrally located.

We visited with Dimitris, the owner of the Art Maison (actually two separate hotels - the Castle and the Aspaki). Dimitris is very hospitable, a gentleman, and a professional. We corresponded by email in advance setting everything up. Easy to work with and no hassles involved.

Overall, the Aspaki, and especially the Atmospherico unit far exceeded our expecations. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

A car isn't necessary if you plan on staying in Oia (everything in easy walking distance). But we wanted to see the rest of the island so we rented a car on the 4th day of our stay. Car rentals are easy and no hassle. There are several car rental companies in Oia and parking is not really that hard to find. The parking lot at the bus station worked well for us. And contrary to many reports, driving in Greece did not seem as bad as reported by some.

We had the pleasure of spending 4 glorious nights in the Endless Blue villa at the Aspaki hotel in June 2008. The pictures on the website cannot possibly capture the 180 degree breathtaking view from the terrace...it is truly one of the best views I have ever seen and you would be hard pressed to find a better one in Oia. The terrace is extremely private (which is rare in Oia) with a dining table, 2 chaise lounges and an outdoor tub/shower to cool off. It was the perfect place to relax and soak in the spectacular beauty of the caldera and sea.

The villa itself is spacious and charming and is perfectly located off the main pedestrian street in Oia but away from the steady flow of tourists.

Although Oia is one of the most beautiful places in the world it can be over-run with tourists during the day which made us appreciate our little oasis at the Aspaki even more.

All of the staff at the Aspaki were wonderful and made us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. The owner Dimitri was kind enough to pick-up our pre-booked ferry tickets in Fira so we didn't have to make the trip. Nicola was there everyday to ensure we had everything we needed.

We absolutely loved the Aspaki and would highly recommend it for anyone looking to truly enjoy the beauty of Oia in a peaceful and private setting. It was the perfect start to our 3 week holiday in Greece and had a view that we will never forget. Our only complaint was that we weren't able to spend a 5th night due to our flight from Athens being cancelled.

The Endless Blue suite at the Aspaki truly is a little slice of heaven.

We just got back from our honeymoon to Greece. We had a very pleasant stay at a nice hotel in Mykonos, went on a short cruise around Greece which was a very typical cruise experience (early mornings, densely-packed days, and an all-out gorge-fest), and ended the trip in Santorini. While the trip was overall very relaxing and a great experience, our stay at the Oia Castle was absolute heaven.

Note that the Oia Castle is one of two hotels that form the Art Maisons group with the other being Aspaki which is just down the street. This review pertains to Oia Castle only as we did not see the Aspaki during the trip.

With the U.S. dollar as weak as it is, the Oia Castle was fairly expensive for us at over $600 USD per night. However, being our honeymoon, we splurged, but only after doing our homework. We compared all of the other top hotels in Oia and found that Oia is damn expensive! Nice hotels in Greece are expensive in general and Oia has a reputation for being expensive for Greece which we definitely found to be true. With that said, the Oia Castle is actually decently priced, relative to their competition.

Getting to the Oia Castle took a bit of a walk because cars are not allowed near the northern end of Oia which overlooks the Caldera. This is the case for all of the hotels with views so it's something that applies to all of the other hotels as well. Upon arrival, someone from the hotel was specifically waiting for us to take our bags down the long walk. (By the way, take them up on their offer to arrange for pickup, we thought it'd be cheaper to take a taxi on our own but it wasn't. Luckily, the taxi driver had to call for directions which is how the hotel knew we were coming.)

When we got to our room (the Marine suite) and saw the view, we cancelled everything we had planned during the Santorini portion of the trip. The room, the hotel, and the view were THAT breathtaking. I've been all over the world and have seen many beatiful locations but our suite was just that much over the top. The room was very nicely decorated and very comfortable, so much so that it, in itself, made me not want to leave Oia for the excursions that we had planned. However, when we were shown the private terrace and jacuzzi overlooking the Caldera, we knew that we had found heaven on earth and it was ours for three whole days! The view was absolutely overwhelming and to be able to see it from the comfort of a jacuzzi was the unique experience that my wife and I were looking for.

It took us a full day to get over the suite and the view and for us to actually want to do something other than lounge around and do nothing but enjoy the suite and the view. When we did, we found that the service was incredible to match. Marjo not only answered every question she could, she wrote down everything she couldn't answer on her own (car rental quotes, ferry times and prices, winery hours) and came by with everything listed out fifteen minutes later. We picked what we wanted to do and that was it, she arranged everything else for us. Now THAT'S what I call service! Best of all, she did it with so much enthusiasm that I wanted to open my own hotel in Oia and hire her away. She wasn't working the day we checked out so my wife and I were disappointed that we couldn't say bye to her. We're not the super-friendly-meet-everyone types but Marjo made that much of an impression on us.

All in all, Oia Castle was one incredible experience and definitely worth every penny. We've been on many, many vacations and this is the one place that we were so impressed by that we want to return VERY SOON rather than "sometime in the future" after we've seen more of the world. When we come back, the trip is going to be timed around when our honeymoon suite at the Oia Castle is available.

The flight from Athens is within an hour.
After setting foot on the Cyclades soil, we found our pickup in no time. Quite a small airport actually.
The bus took us to a parking lot which is as far as the road permits, and from there it's a 5 minutes walk along the cliff to reach the property.
It is situated at the far end of the island where there is nothing to block the sunset, and is not accessible by cars, therefore the walk deemed necessary.
Glad that Adam helped us with our bags, we appreciated him very much. Imagine carrying a ton of stuff in the narrow streets packed with people and frequent stairs.
We took the marine, which is at the second level down from the top.
We settled in at no time. The hotel was spacious and just as the website pictures depicted, no nonsense. the view from the balcony, from the room, and even the bathroom were amazing. The 3D picture hanging from the room was by one of the local artists who gained fame painting/ constructing them. It was indeed very nice, yet I'd say a painting of a wooden boat is not fitting in the romantic atmosphere...
The pool was another level down, we hopped in immediately since it's very hot. The pool water provided immediate relieve; the chlorine smell is understandable. The view from the pool is also astonishing. At least I didn't drop the camera into the pool trying to photograph us both using the timer...
Breakfast is included and is adequate.
I'm happy that internet service is provided and we stayed in touch with people. In fact, I have uploaded a few photos to my online album, which drew envy from friends around the world.
It's next to the Kastro restaurant, which offers direct view of the sunset also.
