“Wow! This place is amazing.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 October 2012

This hotel is the best we have ever stayed in, and we have travelled widely in Asia, Europe and America. The location is jaw-dropping, set into the side of a cliff, with incredible views of the Caldera. The staff were wonderful, and couldn't be more helpful and pleasant. Our room had an outside hot tub with a picture-perfect view. Breakfast can be served on your terrace, and is very nicely presented. The room itself was large, with 2 separate areas, and had an unusual bathroom that felt like a cave - great! Make sure you are feeling fit if you stay here - our room was 120 steps from the entrance! We ate dinner one evening in the nearby Andronis Boutique Hotel, and had an excellent meal there (we didn't have dinner at the Andronis Luxury Suites, but ate in local Tavernas). Overall, this place is simply amazing.

AMAZING VIEW! Excellent location. The staff was amazing. Highly recommend the wine tasting for two by the cliff at sunset with Oliver. It was an amazing evening. The food was superb and we really enjoyed having our breakfast served every morning on our private balcony. We had a wonderful time!

First, let me just say - Oia is the absolute definition of “breathtaking.” The first glimpse of the caldera is something you won’t soon forget. And if you’re going to Oia, you must splurge for a stay at Andronis. The location is incredible. Yes, there are lots of levels and steps, but take your time and make the climb! The infinity pool, with its view of the caldera, is really something to see. You feel like you are sunbathing right on the edge of the world! Really, really spectacular. The room service breakfast included many, many choices and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. Our ‘cave” room was huge, nice (if a little sparsely furnished.) The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Overall, it was a great vacation!

This is truly a luxury hotel and the views and location cannot be beat. That being said, we found some of the staff to be a bit rude a snobby (the reception staff only). We also had terrible difficulty with the jacuzzis in our rooms. I say rooms because we were moved from our first room to another because the jacuzzi was so hot that our entire room steamed up and condensation dripped from the ceiling. Our next room was a bit better but we again struggled with the jacuzzis which were either so hot they burned your skin or like lukewarm bath water. We also did not use our outdoor jacuzzi because the dining area overlooks the entire hotel and people eating dinner were staring at us in our tub. A little awkward. This hotel was very luxurious and we had a great time but I don't think we will be spending this amount of money at the Andronis Suites again, unfortunately.

On a very positive note, the food is OUTSTANDING.

Room Tip: The steps leading from room to room are quite steep and winding. Ask for one of the rooms closer to...

We booked five nights at "Alta Mare by Andronis". Stayed one night in the "Elen" suite and was subsequently upgraded to a room in "Andronis Boutique Hotel". The one night/day at Alta Mare was fabulous. Cozy. Mr. Panos was our "go-to guy" who took care of our every need no matter how trivial (we missed him a lot soon after we were upgraded). Two balconies - one with a jacuzzi, the other for breakfast and general chilling-out. Two large beds - although we had no need of the one in the loft. Privacy assured and, of course, fantastic views of the caldera. Wi-fi was weak and sporadic within the room (a good thing perhaps... should enjoy the surroundings instead of tethered to laptop!). Highly recommended. Obviously ecstatic to have been upgraded to Andronis Boutique (separate review coming soon), but would've been just as happy staying where we were. Oh, and the breakfast was excellent (Mr. Panos even gave us zucchini pie from his Grandma's recipe... yummy!).

We stayed for 5 night in Andronis during September 2012. We were so impressed with everything at the hotel and would highly recommend it to all travellers!

First and foremost, what really stands out about this hotel are the employees and the quality of service they provide. Nothing was too much or too difficult for them to handle - from reserving a restaurant to helping us out during a transport strike, the staff at the hotel did everything they could to make sure we could relax and enjoy our holidays. Toni, Oliver, John, everyone...thank you so much!

But that's not all - the luxury rooms, the faciltiies, the pool, the food, the view are all outstanding. We were in paradise for 5 days and so so sad to say goodbye!

While we were there, we talked to people in other hotels and saw where others were staying, and we are certain that we had the best accommodation. I would highly recommend this place to others, and can't wait to go back there myself!

Room Tip: All rooms are fabulous, personally I wouldn't like a suite in the main hotel building!

My partner and I had the pleasure of staying at Andronis Luxury Suites for our 3 night holiday in Santorini.

We had actually booked a few months ago at the Andronis Boutique hotel (which is a bit cheaper) however when we arrived we were told we were being upgraded to the Luxury Suits into a exceptional suite. It was exceptional indeed.

The room is larger than most units / flats with a large'ish balcony, and a very long area inside with a bed, a walk in wardrobe, couch, day bed and finally behind the bed a separate area which housed the huge shower, and a spa which was essentially inside a mini cave. Totally - 100% private.

There's nothing better than waking up in the morning and jumping into the 38 degree spa before jumping into the shower.

The staff were fantastic, and incredibly helpful, they even helped us checkin to our next flights and booked our boarding passes out. The waiter by the pool was fantastic too - but I can't remember his name!

You have the option of getting breakfast in your room or having it down near the restaurant or the pool. There are so many choices, and the greek yogurt is amazing! We didn't have any other meals in the restaurant though.

The hotel is located towards the start of the touristy strip in Oia. It was close enough to everything though including shops and restaurants which are plentiful. The thing I liked the most of it being away from the 'hustle and bustle' is that every day several dozen buses loads of people from cruises arrive and Oia can get cramped, and a little noisy. This isn't an issue at Andronis.

GOOD
+ The staff / service
+ The location - easy to walk around Oia, but far enough from the cruise buses!
+ The breakfast - so many choices
+ The room we staff in was amazing.

BAD
+ There honestly isn't anything I can put down here, except it's a bit pricey, although with our upgrade it seemed much better value :)
