Lousy breakfast with canned fruit, cold eggs, and stale pastries. Be prepared to hold your shower head as you shower, 3 fake flowers and paint chips falling off the walls. Our laundry was returned to us wet and folded - do not expect anything extra and do not plan on spending ANY time in the room. Maids are un friendly , however, the new renter from the owner of this property , Aliki is pleasent ; she is overwelmed and observedly quite frustrated with all the problems.

Small, friendly, clean, gorgeous, in the middle of Oia, and with THE BEST uncrowded sunset view terrace! I was really impressed by the 3 star rating and price of this hotel...it was great! Good breakfast, great icecreams (only 1euro/scoop). Honest staff...Gael was so helpful and shared great restaurant recommendations. The pool is beautiful, everywhere you looked, there's beautiful churches, beautiful architecture. The kitchenette is nice, and towels were soft! (unlike other greek places). I'd even give it a higher star rating!

We are just back from spending 2 glorious weeks at the Aethrio hotel in Oia. I cannot recommend this hotel and Oia enough. At last we have found the perfect sun holiday destination if you don't want the typical noisy strip of bars etc.
The hotel is in an excellent location, only a 1 min walk from the bus stop and is very easy to find with signs on walls as you walk along. The main cobble stone street is only a few second walk from the hotel. As you relax at the beautiful pool it is easy to forget how close the main part of the village bustling with tourists actually is.
The breakfast is a perfect start to your relaxing day with choices of different fresh breads, ham, cheese, eggs, fruit, cereals, yogurt, juice, teas and coffee.
The staff are great, very friendly and helpful and will make you feel at home as soon as you arrive.
We look forward to returning next summer =)

My wife and I stayed at Aethrio for the five nights on the first leg of our honeymoon. We had a fabulous time in Santorini, and this hotel was the perfect place for us.

The hotel is in Oia, but it is not one of the hotels on the cliff facing the caldera. It is instead on the opposite side of the main street at the top of the cliff. Many of the rooms have great views that face directly northwest and so there is a great view of the sunset from the property. It is also extremely convenient to anything in Oia (although thats not saying much because Oia is a pretty small place).

The pool is very nice, and we spent at least one full day lounging at the pool and getting food in town. The pool is a very peaceful place and a perfect place to spend a hot afternoon.

The rooms very clean, and our "Superior" room was quiet large and acted as a great home base for exploring the island. Also, the other guests in the hotel were very friendly.

The best thing about the hotel was the staff, specifically Aliki (Alice). She was extremely courteous and very helpful. She helped us plan and book most of the things we did while in Santorini.

We will definitely stay at Aethrio if we go back to Oia (although I might consider staying in another town just to switch things up). I think it was a great value for the money.

The hotel and the staff were overall very good. The location is central to everything in OiA and you feel safe and can enjoy the quiet. It has a lovely pool and the owners take care to ensure things are clean and the surroundings are well kept. The preivate roof terrace is a must as it means you dont need to be with the hoards of people looking at the stunning sunset. a real bonus. There was a very modest breakfast which was great to set you up for the day and you could get drinks throughout the day, but not full bar snacks .Our room/apt was average. Not sure it was worth the money as the bathroom was very old with wallpaper flaking and it smelt a bit damp but once you opened the windows this went away. Saying that it didn't really ruin our holiday at all. If you are looking for luxury then this is not the place. It's very functional. I would recommend it but would suggest you find out what room you are getting as I felt there were a lot and we didn't get the best of the bunch.

In the bedroom/bathroom there was permanent smell of urine for the entire time we were there. We did complain to the owners but all they said that they will have the cleaning folks take extra care, did not even bother to come take a look. It is quite far from Fira, however it is very centrally located in Oia and is very well located. Rooms were big and the pool is really nice. There's not much in the way of a view from the room, we later found out that there much were better hotels for fair prices in the picturesque village of Imerovigli in Santorini island on the highest spot of the Caldera which had rooms with breathtaking view of the volcano, the sunset, and the Aegean sea. Imerovigli village is an extension of Fira but is situated on a higher cliff.

We stayed here for two night.
I fully agree with the previous review.
In addition worth mentioning... the hotel is not situated at the Caldera side, but you are literally at the Caldera just by walking 50 meters if you use the hotels breakfast/lobby room entrance.
Good Value Hotel.
