It's not a big or chain-like hotel -- quite the opposite. Every detail is carefully taken care and the treatment given by the owners is indeed special, making you feel like you're part of the family. Rooms are new and of very good quality. You can notice that they thought through all the details to make guests more comfortable and the stay more enjoyable.

Location is good if you're planning to explore the island rather than staying in a single place. The villas are located centrally, very close (5 min walk) to the main bus station.

There's no "hotel breakfast" but they do provide almost everything you need for you to prepare your own breakfast. Just open the mini-bar and it's all there. She even gave us a local white wine for us to try!

One example why they go above and beyond the expected service is the free transfer. I booked the 2-bedroom studio thinking I'd need to take a taxi or shuttle from the port. Surprisingly though, Maria contacted me by email to make sure she had all the information to pick us up at the port and transport us for free to the hotel. She also took us back to the port, of course.
Also, while we waited for the apartment to be ready or for the car to take us to the port, they served us juice, snacks, chocolate.

I think that Maria and her family are made for hosting people in their Villa Rose. We loved the personal service. Picked up at the harbour, dropped of at the airport (even though we left quite early on a saturdaymorning). A welcome drink as we arrived. Fresh water and some wine in our room. This is really a warm welcome. The quality of the cleaning staff is fantastic. Everything is immaculate. Even though the pool is rather small our 9 yrs old boy enjoyed some time in it. There is a nice lounge area next to it for the parents to enjoy. The first evening I made us supper which we really enjoyed on the patio. We had the two bedroom white room, which is of good size for four and homely decorated.
Why not a five bullet rating?
-Breakfast. You will find breakfast supplies in your fridge. A selection of prepacked chocolate filled croissants, biscuits,... from German lowcost supermarket Lidl. Maria, wouldn't it be an idea to look into the possibility to work together with the cross the street pastryshop. Why not putting fresh croissants and bread on the doorstep each morning. This would be more in line with the great personal service you do offer. We would have been more than ready to pay for these extras.
-Shower. In our small bathroom there was a spiderlike system for the showercurtain. As it was not that practical (more of an contraption) our floor got entirely everytime we showered. There should be better options.
All this said this is great value for money. Don't expect views. Be aware that it's next to the main road on the island. It did not bother us but naturally has not the picture postcard feeling. Everything you want to see is closeby.

There's really not much to add to all the glowing reviews of Maria and her family. They are very deserving of all the praise that's be written about them. We were very well looked after and went above and beyond my expectations. The villa is their 'home' and they treat every one that stays at the villa like family.

My airline lost my luggage and Maria was very helpful in contacting the airport/airline trying to locate my luggage. When it finally arrived, Niko gave me a ride to the airport to pick it up, free of charge and out of their good hearts.

As others have stated, you will not find an infinity pool or a sunset view here and it is off the main road and there are some traffic noise. But it never affected the quality of sleep and I much perfer the beach than a pool anyways.

For the money you are spending on other fancier hotels with a nicer pool and a view, you are better served staying at Villa Rose and use the money exploring the beautiful island of Santorini.

A small family run pension conveniently located close to the centre of Fira. The rooms are all different. We stayed in the triple studio for 3 nights as the double rooms were already booked. It was very clean and comfortable with a small bathroom and small outdoor area. The room was cleaned and a simple prepackaged breakfast food was left in the fridge in the small in room kitchen each day. There is a small pool and outdoor area which we did not use. There are no views. The location is excellent as a base for visiting Santorini (we hired a car). Our host Maria Damigou and her family were very welcoming and provided fantastic service assisting with local information, recommendations and providing a booking service for local requirements..

Staff are great and the facilities excellent but it's near quite a noisy road.

Really great to be collected and taken to the ferry.

Swimming pool is nice and the staff are helpful with answering questions.

My family of four stayed at Villa Rose for 3 nights in June 2013. We had a wonderful hospitality from the moment we arrived in Santorini. We were met by Niko at the ferry terminal where he patiently waited for an hour after arrival delay. We had a nice surprise on arrival with some drinks and snacks. Maria explained all the tour options and car rental upon check-in. This allowed to plan our stay without missing out on the most important things we wanted to do. We stayed in the 2BR apartment. The apartment is very clean and a lot of credit goes to the housekeeping lady who does a fastastic job. The toilet is sensitive and tends to run out of water. However, after Niko explained their plumbing system by deep well, it all made sense and we appreciated some of the water challenges in Santorini. The Villa is well located an about a 10 minute walk to the main town. The road you walk along is very busy so I would be vigilant if you have small kids. Breakfast was plentiful and we enjoyed eating outside on the patio. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a personal touch, convinient and affordable place. There is no view, but after viewing the caldera all day, we were happy to relax by the pool.

Wonderful place to stay, just a short walk away from the heart of town. The refrigerator was fully stocked upon or arrival for everything you need for a wonderful breakfast. Maria and her family are so warm and accommodating, they immediately welcome you and make you feel right at home. I never wanted to leave Santorini, and Villa Rose was one reason why!
