Our lodging had recommended going to Kapari for good Greek food and we were not disappointed. Food was very tasty and portions were healthy. At the end of or meal we were each give an after dinner drink. Would definitely recommend for a good meal.

A hidden gem in Fira. Off the busy cliff side but with delicious food and nice style.

Highly Recommended!

At a great many places in Fira, one ends up paying not so much for the food, but for the (admittedly superb) views over the caldera. My advice: seek caldera views for your coffees or after dinner drinks, but definitely try Kapari for at least one dinner.

The place is set in a very pleasant garden, set a bit behind the main road. It has the feel of a real Greek countryside taverna, something not found all too often in Fira. The atmosphere is usually congenial and friendly, certainly not overly formal.

The menu is notably Santorinian, including the typical standards of the island, such as Santorini fava (yellow pea mash) and tomato fritters, all delicious and prepared as they should be. The recent trend of fried chesses with sweet sauces or honey is also being pursued here, and very successfully so - the version with Vinsanto, the island's famous sweet wine, is superb!

There are also some very original dishes, such as stuffed fried olives, or an unusual "ancient Greek" salad. The main courses, with a variety of fish and meat dishes, are all very well worth trying, so far I have never been disappointed. The rabbit is especially fine!

The house wine is good, but there is also a very good range of bottled wines, mostly from Santorini itself.

Altogether, Kapari is my favourite restaurant in Fira...
