The hotel is not a "Palace" and somehow basic but has several adantages: nice rooms (we had the 253 which has a mezzanine ideal for family with kids), walking distance from Fira which can be very messy so the distance and quieteness is welcome.
The choice of putting several individuals pools is very questionable, does not really add anything. Instead they should have a done a bigger central pool (the official photo pretends to show an immense pool...). The sitting are near the individual are a nice touch, you can sit there and have a snack or a drink while reading and resting.
The staff is great and tries hard to please. The organization of transfers and other guest services needs significant improvement

Room Tip: Try getting a room with an individual pool, not so much for the pool but it comes with a seating are...

Santorini is known as "The Honeymoon Island", for all the right reasons and if you are looking for a romantic interlude, the Astro Palace is impeccably located. Arrange for a transfer with The Astro Palace as a lot of Charter Flights land at Santorini. I noticed people trying to hail a Taxi not having much luck.
Staff are incredible and do everything within their capabilitiy to satisfy ones every whim. You never feel short changed.
A 5 minute walk up the hill to Fira, sharpens an appetite that can be satisfied in any number of restaurants at extremely competitive prices. Try the local wines.
The Bar by the Pool is a must for a refreshing local draught beer, or wine after a swim and lie in the sun. As you would expect, rooms are excellent by any standard, with balconies overlooking the Mediterranean. Magic! Cleanliness could not be faulted. Room service is of a 5 star standard at a 3 star price.
My only regret is that my wife of 20 years and I didn't stay longer.

Just over 2 blocks from busy, bustling, noisy Fira Town is an oasis called Astro Palace. Just 3 years old it is marble from top to bottom. This small, quaint hotel is luxurious and the staff are very helpful and informative. The pool area overlooks the ocean (in the distance) but this hotel is not on the Caldera. The quiet peaceful setting was just perfect for our 5 day stay. The rooms are enormous, modern décor, with a balcony facing the pool, comfortable king size bed, huge bathroom and high vaulted ceilings. The air conditioning could be controlled from the room and the sleep here was fabulous (a good benefit of not being located in town). There is free parking on-site. The bus terminal is a short 5-minute walk away - we took local transit around the whole island every day - very reasonable, convenient, dependable air conditioned tour buses - from 1.6 euros to 2.2 euros per ride. The hotel was reasonably priced and very luxurious. It has a pool bar, a restaurant (small) for dinner by the pool, their own winery onsite (tours available free), fabulous gourmet breakfast buffet was included and changed daily. Highly recommended Hotel!!

Room Tip: Any room is great but there are some rooms with private pools and amazing views!

We stayed in this hotel for just one night in the middle of our holiday, it is lovely, immaculately clean, beautiful oft pillows and a very comfy bed. The food at lunch was extremely good a little bit pricy but very good. Pool area nice and quiet and stunning views, the hotel is seriously comfortable and I would definitely go back again. The staff on reception are exceptionally good and very welcoming. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Room Tip: Lovely comfortable hotel would definitely go back again, staff exceptional

Its a lovely place with very good hospitality and food, even the bar by the pool, free internet, and just 5 minutes walk from Fira center, totally value for money and super comfortable. Oh yes, we had our private villa with a private pool and our stay couldn't have been better.

We spent almost a week here. On first impressions we were concerned that it was a bit far out of Fira town. Last year we stayed much closer and our girls could just walk home after a night out. However, after settling in we were very happy with our choice as it is much quiter and after all only a 3 block walk, uphill!! We hired quads and it is a great way to see the island. The pool area is spacious and clean, the photo on their website does give the impression you are much closer to the beach though. Pool bar was well stocked and service great. Towels are provided and can be taken to the beach. The rooms are nice and spacious with a balcony. The bathroom is a fair size too. Hair dryer and all the little extras you get such as soap, shampoo etc is provided. Small coffee station in the room and a bar fridge that you can use at your disposal. There is also a small safe. We had no problem with the choice offered at breakfast. The spa was a nice treat, have to try the chocolate massage! We did not go to the gym, but did see it and just has the basics. Reception was very helpful and when taxis were requested they arrived on time. Wifi is very intermittent. All in all we enjoyed our stay.

We stayed here for 5 Nights and loved it. It was about 10 min walk to Fira town. Lamprini was great. She told us what to see and where to eat and the restaurant she recommended was great. She also made sure we got the best table the whole time. The staff was very friendly and helpful. the rooms nice and big and spacious. Maria at the Spa was wonderful with the foot massage we had. Thank you for a great stay. will stay here again

Room Tip: Stay in the Suites. they have a little slash pool and nice sea view.
