“A little surprise at the end”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

We went at late night, 15 minutes before last order and the lady(store owner) still let us in. We ordered a salad, a grilled sausage, and chicken with honey and sesame. I like the grilled sausage the most. Others are average, perhaps we didn't order the right thing. But the lady was super friendly to each table, and they gave us a little surprise for dessert after we ask for the check. A very sweet touch.

“Delicious food!”

The lady is a little crazy but we had a fun time. The decor is nothing fancy but it was comfortable. The food was amazing. The mushrooms in garlic were so delicious.

“Superb food & hostess!! Irena is the best!”
Reviewed 15 June 2014 via mobile

We actually saw Cn H below and like us, they cleaned their plates. The mixed seafood grill was finger licking great! Husband LOVED his lamb kabob. It was embarassing for the reviewer below though (we saw them) as they only brought a Diners Club card to pay which is simply not accepted at most restaurants (everyone was scratching their heads at their brilliance). After they made a scene, they had to run down the street to get money pay their bill. Hence their embarrassing & poor review (shaking heads here).

Salt & Pepper is the place to be for dinner in Santorini, make reservations though!! Not shockingly, Irena's always busy. Thanks to everyone there for a memorable evening!!

“One word: AMAZING”
Reviewed 14 June 2014 via mobile

Seriously, I have nothing bad to say about this restaurant. From the owners, to the quality of the food, to the value for money, everything was just great! I just wish I was hungrier when I went!! Freshest ingredients in town, nicest family who owns it, great atmosphere. Try the tomato salad (and whatever else you can), you won't regret it.

“Excellent food, best hostess ever”
Reviewed 13 June 2014

Being #1 on tripadvisor is often a curse. People have very high expectations of you and te slightest imperfection results in disappointment. Fortunately, Salt&Pepper continues to live up to its reputation as #1. Often restaurants achieve a reputation on tripadvisor and use it as a license to cut corners, but this isn't the case here. The owners at Salt&Pepper buy their ingredients fresh every morning from the highest quality fishermen, butchers and farms. Their ingredients are so fresh that they ran out of chicken while we were there at midday. We ended up having the grilled eggplant, the tomato salad (which beats any salad I've had in Greece), the spaghetti a la Greca and the octopus. I have to say that the octopus tasted incredible and it was clear it was freshly caught (unlike frozen undercooked octopus I've had in Athens), and the side of split peas it came with was absolutely succulent. With a large beer, the total for all that (which was too much food for us) was only 35 euros. Very reasonable for the impeccable quality.
It is a family run (husband and wife) business with the husband as the only cook. His wife runs the other aspects of the restaurant with a lot of love and passion. Sure the food takes long to come out with a single chef, but it's because every dish is prepared when it is ordered from the fresh ingredients of that morning. Well worth the wait!!
Make sure to reserve for dinner. And come early because kitchen closes at 1030 at night, and at 330 for lunch.
