Luxurious hotel with magnificent views of the Caldera. Our room(#1) was spacious, spotless, comfortable and had a private porch with a fabulous view. Right in the center of Fira, it was convenient to everything yet was a quiet retreat. That was partly attributable to the fact that one must descend many stairs to access the hotel. If stairs are a problem for you, this is not the place to stay. But if you don't mind a little exercise, you'll love Villa Renos.

Breakfast was an epicurean delight. Each morning, we were served a three course breakfast the differed each day. Everything was homemade and home grown by the owner's parents, using products from their local farm - they even made yogurt from their own sheep. They very kindly accommodated my special dietary needs so that I had delectable offerings similar to those of my dining companions.

The reason I have given this hotel a 4 instead of a 5 is because of the advice given to us by the owner. When we arrived, I was planning on going to a nearby restaurant which had fabulous reviews, He discouraged me and instead sent us to a restaurant that served horrible fish. We later ate in the restaurant I had chosen and it was great. Also, when we were going down to the old port to take a sunset cruise, he suggested we not ride down on the donkeys since it would be dangerous- good advice- but then suggested that instead, we walk down the stairs- "It's an easy, pleasant 20 minute walk." This was horrible advice- the path was steep and covered with donkey excrement- a major slipping hazard. In fact, we came across a woman sitting on a step halfway down the path with a newly broken ankle, waiting to be rescued. When we returned and relayed this to Vassilis, he laughed.

The ferry brought us to the Santorini port and we easily accessed a ride to the hotel in a mini van. No need to order a taxi in advance which costs more than twice as much. The standard taxi fare seems to be 15 euros: 15 from Fira to the port, 15 from Fira to Oia, and 15 from Fira to Pyranthos.

We spent seven nights at Villa Renos in May 2013 and enjoyed every second of it! The room was very nice: Beautiful terrace, spacey room, nice bathroom, nice interior, private Jacuzzi with Caldera view. Breakfast is a four course meal prepared largely from produce from Petros's farm. Its a blast. Vassilis and Petros and their families are more than friendly, rather friend-like and helpful. If you are interested in history, facts and information about the island: Petros and Vassili will tell you all you need to know. Trip arrangement and good restaurant hints are included. No more we could have asked for.
The hotel is at a very central location in Fira. Just a few steps away from the main road and all the restaurants and bars. Yet quiet and peaceful when you are in your room. We will definitely come back and enjoy Villa Renos and the company of the owners and staff. Thank you very much for this relaxing and refreshing experience!

Room Tip: If you can: Get yourself a room with a private Jacuzzi. Every Euro cent pays back!

Our room had views of the caldera and we had out own jacuzzi on our balcony. Bliss!
The room was very well appointed.
Villa Renos is very well located. You need to walk down 34 steps to reception. But note, that is not unusual. Thira hugs the side of a mountain and a great many of the accommodations would have many more steps. Anyway it is a good excuse for enjoying the superlative breakfast.
Petros, Zina and Vassilis are really gracious hosts. Nothing seems to be too hard for them. My husband needed a doctor while we were there. No problems. They took a genuine interest in my husband's recovery, making sure he had enough herbal remedies and specially made meals.
It was like staying with family.
And the breakfasts! Zina is a amazing cook. Expect to have your taste buds tantalised with dishes that are light, gloriously tasty and show great use of local fresh produce. And forget the diet while you are there. There is a sweet dish to finish. Yum. Of course lots of fresh fruit , breads, eggs, etc.
Santorini is beautiful. Staying at Villa Renos made it absolutely special. Can't wait to return!

From the Airport Transfer to the very end of our stay, Villa Renos was 1st Class Service all the way. Villa Renos is small Family Business & everyone makes you feel like a member of the Family, not a Hotel Guest. My Wife, Infant son & I stayed 4 nights & were very sad to leave. Santorini is a magnificent place & Villa Renos adopted us for the duration of our stay & I encourage anyone to stay there & enjoy their hospitality.
The Facilities are 1st class & the view from our privare Balcony was breath-taking.
I can't speak too highly of this beautiful place & beautiful people :)

Room Tip: All Rooms have private Balconies & AWESOME views. At least 1 has a Pool

Villa Renos is a wonderful place. My wife and I recently stayed here and we can't say enough great things about our experience. Beautiful and once in a lifetime views, sunsets, great breakfasts and friendly and accommodating service (including special touches throughout our stay). Vasillis, Petros and Zina are fantanstic hosts and made our 5 day stay unforgetable. I strongly recommend that you stay here and take advantage of the rooms with a jacuzzi. Thank you Villa Renos for a wonderful experience. Mark & Bonnie
