We recently spent 3 nights at the Aigialos Hotel as part of a trip to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. I have to stay this was perhaps one of the best hotels we have stayed in the world, with perhaps the best service we have experienced anywhere, and that's considering we are seasoned travellers. I've never written a review on Trip Advisor, but felt the Aigialos deserved it after our stay.

The Manager, Vivi, is such a helpful and friendly person, who always has the guests needs and experiences at the forefront of her mind. We booked the Aigialos after researching hotels online and speaking to friends. We wanted something near the main town of Fira, with great views, and a touch of local luxury. The Aigialos seemed to fit the bill. When booking through the hotel's website you are able to set a preference for which room you would like, although this is not guaranteed. Each room has a different name, and different characteristics. As we found out later, the hotel was previously a Monastery, and so after conversion each room has it's own different charms.

We booked one of the superior rooms, and I emailed Vivi to confirm the booking, and to inform her that the trip was to celebrate our Anniversary, and if possible to get the room we requested so we could have a special trip. As part of the booking transfers to and from the airport are also included.

On arrival at the airport we were greeted by the driver, and taken efficiently to the hotel. On arrival Viva was waiting near the entrance to walk us to the hotel. She, and all of the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were informed that as we were celebrating our Anniversary, we would be upgraded to the best suite in the hotel at no extra cost. We were naturally delighted, and already felt like the Aigialos team wanted to do everything possible to make our trip special!

The room itself was amazing. We had our own private entrance to the compound, and had the entire roof terrace to ourselves. The views at sunset with a complimentary cocktail were truly stunning. As part of the service we also had breakfast brought to our private rooftop terrace every morning. This consisted of a really great spread, and was always served with a smile.

The remainder of our stay was relaxing just as we wanted. The staff were happy to help with any local tips and advice, and there was always a friendly smile at reception if we ever needed anything. We would happily stay here again, and would consider going in a bigger group to make the most of the terrace and rooms. Special thanks needs to go to Vivi, and Evita at reception, as well as the breakfast staff for making our stay truly memorable.

We would highly recommend staying at the Aigialos.

Room Tip: Choose a higher room if possible for the best possible view.

We stayed four nights at Aigialos and used it as a base from which to visit Santorini. The room had a beautiful view of the the sea/volcano and came with a mini porch area overlooking the sea. Being a former monastry, the design and set-up of Aigialos is both unique and enchanting. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and also organised airport pick-ups and drop-offs free of charge. Aigalos is the perfect romantic hideaway from which to explore Santorini! We certainly plan to go again.

This is a breathtaking location with an extremely friendly and helpful staff! The rooms are spacious and have wonderful private balconies to view the beautiful waters of the Aegean Sea and magnificent sunsets God provides! Our family of five adults loved the fact that a delicious breakfast was included with our room and was brought up and served to us on our own balcony. The Aigialos Hotel is conveniently located near the shopping and restaurants as well as the public transportation center. We had an amazing stay here and would recommend the Aigialous Hotel to anyone who visits Santorini!

My husband and I have just returned from a holiday in Europe and were lucky enough to spend 4 glorious days and nights in Santorini. I had looked on trip advisor when deciding where to stay and Aigiolos had great reviews. We were not disappointed as on arrival the view from our terrace just took our breath away! The staff were so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed having our breakfast delivered to our private terrace each morning and I have never had such yummy food . I just miss that Greek yoghurt with honey and the creamy feta scrambled eggs so much. Aigiolos hotel is traditional Greek in style and we had our bed in an all white cave. Just gorgeous. Enjoyed seeing the donkeys going down to the port each morning to pick up cruise boat tourists, loved the chilled glass of wine while watching the spectacular sunset and then out for an evening stroll around Fira to eat at another amazing restaurant. Heaven on earth in our opinion and we still daydream about it all. There are many hotels to choose from in Fira but if you want to splurge a little then Aigiolos is definitely worth booking. Oh and the photos all look like professional postcards. Love love love Santorini and Aigiolos Hotel.

Room Tip: All the rooms have their own special features and little terrace for eating and watching the sunset. The whole property is totally awesome

My wife and I have travelled around the world and we must say this is one of the nicest hotels that we have stayed at. The staff are fabulous. Vivi the manager is fabulous and help planned our private catamaran tour, transporation, etc. We were upgraded to a room that had 4 private terraces with spectacular sunsets and breakfasts. This is truly a great find.
