“Best place to be in Santorini....”
Reviewed 10 August 2009

When booked Aigialos we never expect to get more than what we usually get in most hotels in the greek islands. As soon as we arrived to the airport we found a pleasant young man waiting for us with abig smile. The rest of the staff also welcomed us with more smiles, welcome wine served on our terrace with a fruitplate so nicely arranged that we didn t want to destroy it...Marina, Dina,Voula & Nicoletta who is doing her training to be a hotel manager. Not to forget Stavros also from a hotel school in Kriti, he served us many delicious breakfasts. Their croissants gave us some extra kilos to take back to Thes/ki with us. The best part is that we got all these in our private terrace over our House ... A!... Skiron A & B are our rooms. We strongly suggest to stay there . Their terrace is the best place to be in Santorini especially during Sunsets .The food was also a new experience to all of us.Alexandra is the chef & she does miracles out of nothing.
The whole experience was perfect. The rooms are traditionnal but spacious. No steps to go up & down (Maybe 5-6 to go to our terrace). The view amazing Caldera, volcano, The Big Blue & the best sunsets we ve ever seen ... in private!
There is only one person to blame for all this. Mr Jean-Pierre is the multi language speaking manager of this hotel. He insists that they all do only what is obvious to do for their guests, but we have experienced that they do their outmost & their best.
We are now packing to go back, but we are so sad as if we leave our new friends behind. That's it. We must come back the soonest possible & that's our promiss to Aigialos & his people. Well done everybody. We'll be back.

Realy to be recomended !
Having stayed at the beautiful Kaikias House with its unique view,
the admiration of the breathtaking Aegean caldera was for us already
a good reason to come back. But the hotel itself has enchanted us,
with its dignified and tranquil ara and its graceful architecture
and decoration, starting from the lobby, which is furnished with
lovely antiques and tapestries, to our rooms with the smooth marble
floors and bathroom, the hand-curved bed poster, the antiques and the
original paintings. My best description is being invited to a
beautiful house, full of original and rare, well-cared pieces,
combined with all modern hotel amenities. Definitely not something
you encounter often, even at boutique hotels. This place is the
original, classy Santorini mansion.

Two words of advice:
There are a lot of rip offs in the surounding,
I had to try 2 establishments prior to finding this gem.
The archaeological sites - Akrotiri diggings and the
ruins of Thira - are of the best I have seen in the Med.
I travel extensivly

We spend recently a long weekend in Santorini and stayed at Aigialos hotel.
Jean Pierre and all staff offered a remarkable personalized service. The view from Tramontana house was just outstanding. Tje best view of the sunset from Fira and breathtaking feeling of the volcano. Chef Alexandra prepared for us a delicious dinner. Don' t miss the opportunity to taste the sweet and some watermelon on puff pastry and katiki cheese. We can't wait to go back again.

We came to Aigialos for a visit after reviewing information from many sources. Nothing came close to describing how wonderful this location is except for a few Trip Advisor reviews. The views are breathtaking. Every morning to awaken and take in the view from the balcony overlooking the caldera was truly a treat.
Jean-Pierre and his staff are the best. Very friendly and helpful. We sat in the courtyard sipping wine listening to jazz in the evenings after walking through the town.
We had dinner on our terrace at sunset - how romantic and specatcular. Alexandra made two of the best meals we had for the entire trip. I have NEVER had such good rack of lamb as what she made for me. Also the fish in vine leaves was amazing.
The location of Aigialos is ideal, quick walk to the shopping district, quick to the buses and the most wonderful view of the caldera.
I would definitely recommend this location. We are planning to return with our kids next year!

A very efficient, well mannered and friendly staff, they all go out of their way to make the stay exceptional - from restaurant suggestions to trip organization. Well done! The location is superb, both in terms of view and proximity to the city, as well as some of the island's best gourmet resturants and the Cycladic archaeological museum (walking distance).
