“Easter Weekend Celebration”
Reviewed 24 April 2014

I wanted to experience Easter and landed at the beautiful site of Aressana Spa Hotel and Suites.
- In my arrangements the hotel arranged to transport me from the Santorini airport to the hotel. A great value to me since my arrival was late in the evening. I was transported to the main lobby where I met with smiling and friendly faces and a warm towel to freshen up my face. I a few minutes, the staff showed me to my room, along with a beautiful tray with local white wine and fruit. My bed was ready and warm and quick hot shower relaxed me to my dream land.

I started my days with a visit at the hotel dinning room for breakfasts each day early, the smells from all the goodies were intoxicating ...my favored fresh orange juice quenched my thirst and I enjoyed fresh made spinach cheese pie treats and tasty seasonal sweets "Tsureki" and the "red died eggs". There was great variety of meats, cheeses, sweet treats, you name it, but I left it alone for others to enjoy.

The dinners were also excellent. The Santorini fava dish and the white wine were my favored,
After a long day out harvesting pictures in returning to my room I was treated with local sweet wine "vinsanto" with mixed dry nuts tray and my bed was ready with a small plate of local sweet balls.

The bar staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly and engaged me with interesting insights about the island, as well as what local wines i may enjoy tasting.

Aressana's location is ideal for taking short walks leading to the center of town or reaching below to the small harbor for a visit to the volcano, hot springs, and other locations you can only access by boat. But on the way anywhere nearby you are surrounded with aesthetic beauty, the volcano is breathtaking and the vessels below standing or moving create opportunities for "Kodak" moments all day long.

A special treat was to visit the village of Pyrgos and see the thousands of lights on Good Friday night, as the villagers do something very special. They light up the entire village (every house, every roof top, every church, every path) and as you approach the village from below it is the most incredible sight you will ever see. But, then the view of Pyrgos from the Aressana Pool was also as spectacular yo enjoy.

My time at the SPA was very relaxing and invigorating and the staff very professional.

While at the main lobby, I was attracted to the jewelry displays and my spouse was very happy with my choice of the "meandros" design on the necklace I purchased.

I want to extend my sincere thanks to all the staff at Aressana Hotel and SPA for a perfect holiday weekend.

We stayed here over Easter and had a wonderful stay. We arrived about 9pm but were quickly checked in and given a tour of the hotel and shown to our rooms. Our luggage arrived shortly after. The restaurant serves food until late so they had reserved a table for us and we had a very nice meal.

The hotel is beautifully decorated and looks so clean and fresh. The pool area is attractive and they will bring food and drink to your sunbed or lounger. I do not think that i have ever encountered such friendly staff. They all speak excellent English and are genuinely focussed on the guests having a perfect stay.

The only small black mark was that in the spa, three of the four hot slabs were not hot when my kids used it. Otherwise a perfect stay.

Room Tip: All very good.

Romantic hotel with a great location just blocks from the bus stop and the main shopping strip. 1/2 block to the water views. The staff is superb and the setting is romantic. although there are no views of the water it is in an excellent location to the city center and transit.

Everything about our trip to this hotel has been outstanding. The hotel staff could not do enough for us. They were professional, knowledgable, friendly, funny and attentive. We arranged our wedding through the hotel and it was perfect in everyway with email comms being dealt with quickly and professionally over the six months up to the special day 15/04/2014. My Bride to be was calm and had no worries that everything was going to go smoothly, which it did.Especially good as it was the first of the year for them. The ceremony was held across from the hotel on a private terrace with stunning views across the caldera.
The hotel itself was spotlessly clean, the breakfast was excellent and the restaurant food was glorious especially the trio of octopus!
I would especially like to commend the bar staff who when asked made cocktails to the highest quality and when asked made something not on the menu. As they were staff that we interacted with most, when it was time to leave it was like leaving friends behind. Very Sad.
The hotel was perfectly placed for access to Fira sunsets, shopping in the town and the many restaurants and bars.
As our first experiance of a SLH Small luxury hotel of the world we will certainly be returning to this outstanding hotel in the future and hope to experiance some of the other 520 on offer!
Thank you to Anna, Jaqueline and Stephanos for all you did for us and making Myself, my wife and our families welcome in Paradise.

Room Tip: we stayed in a Garden suite as a complimentary upgrade for the wedding. neighbours seemed only to st...

A gorgous hotel with staff that cant do enough for you. Wonderful views of Fira and the Cathedral from the hotel. A perfect location as only a few mins walk from the bus station and the main town of Fira. The spa facilities are of a high quality and very relaxing. The restaurant food was superb as was the breakfast buffet. Free wifi and computers in lobby was an added bonus. We will definitly be back for another visit.

Price: very good value
Location: couldn't ask for better in Fira, was a 3 min walk to town square, shops, restaurants, bars
Service: exceptional, super attentive, went out of their way, highly recommend based on service
Pool: amazing
Food: excellent and affordable, Greek breakfast was awesome
Rooms: relatively basic for 5 star but the boutique hotel lobby and lounge and restaurant were excellent to chill
Wifi: temperamental but I understand that's how it is in Santorini

Highly recommend- the host can plan your trip for you and take care of everything

The Aressana in Fira was beautiful, chic, and immaculate. The staff there were kind and engaging to us, particularly the waiters in the restaurant, bar and pool area. We also purchased a three-hour, customized island tour from the hotel, visiting Akrotiri, the Red Beach, Kamari, the Santorini Brewing Company, and the Monastery at the top of the mountain. In addition to giving us an in-depth overview of the island and its long history (social, political, geological, agricultural, you name it), our host gave us an up-close view of a vineyard had wonderful recommendations for a sunset spot in Oia for sunset. WOW, above and beyond on all counts!
