I had a great weeks stay at the Aressana.
The staff were excellent, very welcoming and friendly nothing was too much trouble. It is the first time I have ever been given a welcome tour round the hotel, which was a very nice touch.
The wait staff at breakfast and round the pool were superb. Anna is excellent as well, she greeted me by name every morning at breakfast and make lots of suggestions about things to do and see.
I had a treatment in the spa and was welcomed with Japanese tea and also had a relax in the jacuzzi and on the thermal beds.
Breakfast was great and there was a good selection of food every morning. The fried bread was delicious, as were the little biscotti and the Greek specialities like the spinach and cheese pies. I also ate by the pool, again the food was great I had the tomato fritters and pita bread and a delicious chicken and grilled vegetable salad. They also do a lovely Freddo cappuccino and fresh mint tea, which is served with local honey and little spice biscuits.
The hotels location is perfect for exploring fira and is right by the local bus station where you can buses all over the island. I went to Oia, Kamari and Alkitori on the bus.
The communal areas in the hotel are lovely, I sat on the terrace on many an evening and it was very relaxing. Rooms are a little less luxurious than I would expect from this grade hotel but they were perfectly adequate and very clean.
If I return to Santorini I would definitely stay here again

Beautiful hotel with impeccable service. Great location in Fira, near lots of shops and restaurants. Staff was really willing to go the extra mile. Breakfast was delicious with many different options as well.

My husband and myself were recommended to stay here for our honeymoon. A close friend of ours, who had stayed here a few years ago said she loved it and so did a lot of others from trip advisor. We were looking forward to stay there.

We were so impressed with the hotel's location, as it's central to all the buses, shops, restaurants, ports to the island tours and stunning views of the Caldera.

On arrival, we were greeted by friendly staff members and given a tour of the hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful and clean, but i was disappointed with the poor Wi-Fi and also the room we stayed in.

I wouldn't call the room we stayed in a 4 star hotel. The reasons i say this is because, the rooms are out dated with its decor, there's a stand up shower in a bath tub, no tea or coffee facilities in the rooms and although the housekeepers are lovely and bring you beautiful sweets at night, i would have liked the floors to be swept and mopped daily and a change of bed linen, after staying there for almost a week.

Other than that, the breakfast is delicious and very fresh! Loved eating at their restaurant, it was well presented and couldn't get enough of it. Must try!

The pool was cold, but refreshing during the hot weather and the Cabanas were very comfy.

My favourite part of this hotel was the day spa. Yes it's a little bit extensive, but we both said, from all the massages we had around the world, this was the best by far. You must try their spa room and play around with their skin care products!

We were treated very well, would have been nice to have some champagne and chocolates on arrival as a celebration, since we were here on our honeymoon. Other than that, perfect location and wonderful staff.

Thank you for all your hospitality! We will miss Santorini

We were on this beautiful island for 1 week and stayed here. The location is great, the service is top notch, the food is very good. The rooms are Spartan unless you get a suite. If I came again I would probably stay here for all the positive attributes.

Room Tip: If you want size get a suite

I have travelled a lot in my time but this is without a doubt the BEST hotel I have ever stayed in. What makes this place so good is the staff and the service as well as the beautiful communal areas, bars and reception. I can quite honestly say I felt like royalty! The staff seem to know what you want before you do! I arrived to chilled wine, a plate of fresh fruit and a very warm welcome & tour of the hotel. Anna from guest relations was exceptional - she can't do enough to help you. Always there at Breakfast to greet you & make sure all is well and on hand to give advice on restaurants and places to visit. She recommended a great restaurant called Sirtaki on the old port - the food was stunning! Anna is amazing at her job & very professional as is everybody else. Stephanos is very friendly & helpful & is always on the watch out to make sure customers have all they need. Nikitas is very sweet and can't do enough for you, making sure your coffee or tea is topped up. He genuinely loves what he does & it shows. Marios & Micheal are awesome cocktail makers and Maria on reception is lovely too, very factual and precise - a real pillar for the business & last but not least - thank you to the ladies in the spa Ada & Lambrini - they really spoilt me & sorted out my shoulder injury with their amazing massages! I loved the way that they bring round water & refreshing face towels to you at the pool - they are all awesome at Aressana & I will be back. If you are looking for a hotel in Santorini I strongly suggest Aressana - they do everything to make your stay wonderful & special - Thank you guys and girls & also to Jacqueline for booking me in efficiently and making sure things ran smoothly! Like a number of other people who have wrote a review of this hotel I too got a good deal through Travelzoo. I did not know the hotel or where about it was in Santorini all I knew is that the Hotel looked great in the photographs and I wanted so much to go back to Santorini having visited there on a crusie last year. I was not disapointed - The Aressana Spa Hotel is fantastic in so many ways. In a great position yards from views over the caldera. Minutes walk to the bus station from where coaches not buses take you to parts of the island at a very cheap rate and minutes walk to the shops and the heart of Fira. The staff was so friendly and they made you feel as though you were a regular visitor to the hotel. The rooms were excellent and they even turned your bed down at night and left chocolates on the covers. The breakfast was something to look forward to each night and chocolate cake and rice pudding was on the buffet table along with so many other things to try and I recommend the musili. Great meals in the hotel on a night don't be put off if the restaurant is quiet on a night there is so much choice of eating places around that sometimes there are few people in the hotel or at least there wasn't when we stayed. The food is excellent and the chicken with Santorini tomatos is highly recommended. My only worry about giving this review is that when it comes to booking the hotel again and I will be going back is that it will probably be FULLY BOOKED!!!! Finally can I make a special mention - Anna and "James" who as employees of the hotel went out of their way to make us feel so welcome. As did all the staff.

Room Tip: Room 36 was so quiet and had a lovely balcony and a lovely view of the hills

This hotel has a great location and within seconds you are in the heart of the town and more importantly the view of the Caldera. All the staff were friendly and efficient and nothing was too much trouble. We did spend one night one of the rooms off the reception but as other correspondents have said, the noise does travel up the stairs. We spoke to the reception and we were moved without any fuss. The rooms were clean, but a little dated and could have been brighter. There is a fridge in the room which was handy for milk but there isn't any tea and coffee making facilities. They supplied bathrobes and slippers which was a nice touch. The public areas were modern, contempory and looked as if it had been refurbished. The breakfast was very good and it gave me a taste for granola with a large spoonful of natural yoghurt. The tea and coffee was waiter poured on request but I would have preferred a coffee pot on the table so I could help myself. We did wander down to the spa but I found the price a little expensive so we didn't bother. I suppose a lot depends how important a massage is to you. We tried to visit Oia by bus but it was chaotic at the bus station. Having just missed the bus we thought we would wait 30 minutes for the next. After 1 hour we gave up and hired a car the next day (which the hotel organised). We had food at the hotel on 3 occasions at lunchtime. It was very good but perhaps a little more expensive that in the town but I think worth it. We didn't eat at the hotel in the evening as we like to try other restaurants. Visit Salt and Pepper, we did 3 times but you may have to book in advance. I have mentioned a couple of minor issues would have no hesitation recommending this hotel and would choose this hotel if I visited Santorini again.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms 21 - 26 unless you are a heavy sleeper
