“Wow!!”
Reviewed 7 November 2013

We booked at short notice for 3 nights and liked it so much we booked for another 3 nights. The location was ideal for us being about 100 metres below the main Thira thorofare. The views were "Wow". We stayed in 3 different rooms and they each had the unique charm - all of them were spacious, clean and full of character, art (by the owner) and history They all had a patio erea where we had breakfaest served each morning and watched the cruise ships ferry their passengers in for the day. The team there were most obliging and helpful with their dining and tourism suggestions - as well as general conversation. This was originally a family residential property that has been coverted to a touism hotel/apartment complex - the conversion inludes art and historic artifacts that tie the place together and create a unique ambience. We asolutely recommend Cori Rigas to anyone visiting Santorini/Thira. Graham & Wendy, New Zealand

Room Tip: All rooms are different and unique. All are appealing.

The privacy and size of our suite at Cori Rigas made our holiday the perfect retreat. Not just a bed to rest your weary body after the days activities, rather the perfect hideaway to absorb the breathtaking view while enjoying some of the local produce.

Room Tip: Treat yourself to a jacuzzi suite, it really doesnt get any better than this, soaking in a hot tub...

Awesome views, the perfect spot for the sunsets! This hotel is just steps from town but far removed from all the cruise ship tourists. A peaceful oasis. We sat on the veranda for an entire afternoon the day we left as we were awaiting our ferry later that afternoon.
The staff and service is wonderful, ultra accommodating, and had many great tips for tours and places to eat that were authentic and delicious. The hotel cafe has a great breakfast that can be customized to your liking. Lots of fresh fruit!
The suite was HUGE. More beds than we actually needed. Very neat, clean and unique traditional house built into the cliffs. Was quite an experience.
We had our laundry done at the hotel, smelled so fresh and was folded so neatly!
Your bags get carried right to the taxi area too which was very important for older travelers like my mom.
Great location, easy to get to from the town, and the most awesome views!

Good, but there are pros and cons. The views granted are spectacular, but you have those views pretty much everywhere in Fira and Oia. The best spot of all may be on the Art Cafe terrace, where the hotel serves breakfast if you don't want it in room. It's the best place to watch the sunset away from the cruise ship crowds while sipping a beer or coffee. In fact even if you don't stay at the Cori Rigas I'd suggest you have a drink there at sunset. As for the suite, you are paying a premium for the location but if you have trouble with uphill walkways, it can be quite a climb back up to the rim. Also, being built into the cliff, the windows/fresh air flow in our courtyard room was limited to the front wall only. The staff is great, someone will carry your bags down and back up when you leave. Breakfast is also very good and included. It's close to the bus station and all the action. Nice rooms in Fira are pricey. If I was to visit Santorini again I would stay on the beach in Kamari for half the price and use the bus or rent an ATV to visit Fira and Oia. In fact we had dinner on the board walk in Kamari two of the three nights we were in Santorini as we found it a more pleasant area than Fira. It's 10 minutes or so by bus from Fira to Kamari and the bus runs quite frequently.

Yes the rooms are not cheap we had one of the suites with a private jacuzzi on our balcony. The view is fantastic, you just don't want to leave your balcony from early morning till sunset.
Service was excellent from the welcome drink upon arrival, to the very nice breakfast served on your balcony.
We received very good restaurant recommendations especially Ellis which is just a short stroll further around the same section you are on.
Quite a few steps from upper level down to the hotel so if you have baggage definitely phone and they will send a porter up to assist.
The room was a good design given the constraints of the building. Yes the double bed was pushed into a corner but this was only a minor quibble
Would definitely recommend here if you want a relaxing experience the price in m view was worth it and we have stayed in two other properties in Santorini.

Great service and hospitality. The location is absolutely perfect. We were upgraded to a superior suite from where we saw the most perfect sunset. Every morning your breakfast is being served at your balcony as per your requested timing and including your choosen preferences. Sasa, the hotelmanager, is of great help (i.e. dinner reservations, ATV reservation, and much more). The hotel is clean and pays attention to details. We enjoyed our stay and would love to come back a second time. We absolutely spent some memorable days in Santorini.

Amazing location at the quiet end of town, convenient for the bus station (a trip to the excavations at Akrotiri is not to be missed) and near some excellent restaurants. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the included breakfast was absolutely first-class. The accommodation was simply rather than luxuriously furnished, and spotlessly clean. The kitchenette was well equipped, though a folding rack for drying small items of clothing would have been useful, as would ironing facilities.

Room Tip: No view from room 18 (double bed) but small table/2 chairs on side terrace and private roof terrace...
