“Unique accommodation”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 June 2014

Pros:
Unique and charming rooms
Ridiculous views...it doesn't even look real!
Great location- close to the bus stop and everything Fira has to offer

Cons:
Tiny rooms, but it's also built into the side of a cliff, so what can you expect?!
The pool is very cave-like. The sun doesn't really reach the water, so it was pretty cold.
Each day we ordered breakfast, we were missing something. The breakfasts were huge, so it didn't really end up being a big deal.

Overall, I'd recommend Cori Rigas Suites. Definitely a unique hotel!

Can comfortably start off by saying that Nikolas, Sassa and Bill are some of the most pleasant hotel staff I have encountered in my vacations in the Mediterranean. Ever smiling and ever helpful, they made our stay absolutely pleasant in CoriRigas. It's a pretty hotel on the cliffside of Fira, facing the volcano. Lovely breakfast is served on the balcony (requests filled out a night prior and how a smiling Nikolas puts it " even if you forget to fill the form, you will get breakfast!) with a view to die for! Highly recommend. Sassa is a gem who attends to your requests promptly and mans the reception with so much aplomb. The location is so good. A few steep steps and one is bang in the thick of Fira. Bus stop is just a short walk away.

Room Tip: Request a room close to the recption, facing the sea. That way you will not have to climb too many s...

Stayed in a room with 3 beds. Plenty of space for up to 6. Jacuzzi outside the room wasn't that warm and the bathroom is hard for a tall guy to take a shower in. One of the most amazing views to wake up to in the world though. Nice breakfast, I liked the option of the healthy breakfast.

Very friendly staff. Sassa offers a personalized service and is very helpful, and so are all the staff.
Very charming place, rooms are very nice, breathtaking view and beautiful Jacuzzi with a view.
I definitely recommend Cori Riga. Well done Sassa and your team.

Room Tip: Suite with Jaccuzi is surely to try.

A wonderful quiet location to relax, if you have a room with an own terrace, with a wonderful view to the sea, and a whirl pool with warm water, you have the top. Lying in the pool, looking to the stars in the night, unforgettable.
A really good breakfast you can order in the evening before, you will get it served on the terrace, or in your room.
The sleeping room and the kitchen are not so big, but charming, the bathroom interesting, built directly into the cliffs. The main shopping road and supermarkets are nearby as well as the central bus-station (about 5-10 minutes to go, depending on you, walking up the steps), where you can buy tickets to all interesting places of the island.Timetables are available there. Do not miss the town Oia. From or to the airport or harbour a Taxi will pick up you, porters will take care of your luggage, if you book this service in advance. And at last a very friendly, helpful and competent management.

Room Tip: Try to get a petite jakuzzi suite with an own terrace and whirl pool

Under normal circumstances I would give this hotel an even lower score, but it gets major bonus points for charm. Situated in this popular town of Fira, the location was a great hub to be able to see all of Santorini. The hotel was built right into the cliffs of the Caldera overlooking the volcano across the sea which was amazing. However, there were quite a few steep/uneven steps to get to/from this hotel (not accessible by car). Porters from the hotel will help you carry your luggage up and down if you have your taxi driver call before you arrive.

The room we had was adorable but had it's share of creepy crawlies. I don't think any were concerning (mostly just the nature of being part of a mountainside building and the windows being left open by the cleaning staff), but I definitely spotted a few spiders and other small flying insects.

The beds were not very comfortable and my pillow was very flat and hard (though I think my friends may have lucked out better with their pillows/beds).

The staff at the hotel were very nice and helpful, but did not have as many details on certain things as I would have liked. Be sure to pick up a schedule of the buses from the bus station (about a 5 minute walk away) which will enable you to easily get to the sites on the island. Fira is the hub of all the buses which make getting to the beaches, Oia (the town at the tip of the island that you must visit to see the sunset) and the archeological site in Akrotiri. Buses range from 1.60 Euro to 2.20 Euro depending on where you are going. There is also a very easy bus (10-15 minutes) to the airport which will save on cab fare.

Great location - in the heart of the fascinating shopping/walking streets of Fira, this boutique property is great for a silently tucked away retreat.
Simple and clean suites, humble and friendly management and simply gorgeous views of the Caldera - makes this a great choice of a hotel to stay in.
