Cute little hotel, short walk to the stores and restaurants of Fira. Clean hotel, friendly staff. My breakfast was included. Nice pool :-) Some rooms have little balconies overlooking the pool.

Wi-fi was extra, unfortunately.

Room Tip: Get an upper floor room facing pool. Quieter.

Stayed for a week and really enjoyed whole experience!
The Astir Thira hotel is located in a great spot; about 3 minutes walk to the Carrefour and 8 minutes from the local bus station. Buses are frequent reliable and cheap and allow access to all key points of Santorini. Quad bikes are also plentiful and good value to hire, and another good way of seeing what Santorini has to offer.
The staff at the hotel were responsive and helpful and arranged a swift change of rooms when we asked for a sunset view from the front of the hotel. Our room was cleaned and fresh towels were provided daily.
The pool area was spotless and whilst the hotel was full with guests coming and going daily few seemed to use it, so it was like having our own private pool on some days!
Breakfast is served from 8 till 10 and adequate to get you started for the day.
Free Wi-Fi was a real bonus and a better connection than my BT infinity hub at home.
Our next visit to Santorini will definitely include the Astir Thira Hotel!

Room Tip: Sunsets & Caldera at the front of the Hotel therefore are on the roadside with some traffic nois...

I've been to Santorini in middle August 2012 for ten days, and I stayed in this hotel.
It's 5 minutes far from the centre of Thira (by walking), the room was always clean, the two girls that stayed there were always nice, helpful and problem solver. We really enjoyed our stay there.
The prices are also very good, ok, You're not in the "Caldera" but You have a nice view and it takes 5 minutes walking to go to the centre of Fira being on the Caldera.

Room Tip: Rooms with sunset view are noiser because them are directly on the street.

This was a very memorable vacation-the location was absolutely beautiful, you couldn't ask for a more perfect view. The staff was friendly and the resturants were all outside overlooking the sea. I would definitely recommend the Astir Thira Hotel for a family vacation

Room Tip: Have a room facing the back that over looks the Mediterranean

I stayed at this hotel for two nights with a couple of friends. I wasn't very happy with their shuttlebus service/lack of it. I called them from Mykonos earlier the same day we were checking in, asking them to pick us up at the port. They told us that there couldn't be any "last minute bookings" so we had to get a taxi/bus. We did take a bus for 2.20Euros which was super cheap, but we had to drag all of our luggage all the way to the hotel in a 10 minute walk.

When we got to the hotel, I immediately asked if we could book a shuttlebus to the airport. The lady said this time that they "did not have any shuttlebus service" at all so we needed to book taxis to get to the airport. But guess what? The last day we were at the hotel, right before going into a tourbus and leaving the hotel, we saw a shuttle bus that clearly said "Astir Thira" on it, picking up two other males. I was so angry, but decided not to ask the reception ladies since they had already helped us with the arrangement of our transport to the airport (through the coach bus for the tour we booked, which would take us directly to the airport the same evening).

Another thing that concerned me was how we had to drop off our keys at the front desk every time we left the hotel. The key for the safe also did not work (didn't have much luck with safes during my whole trip to Greece). Also one of the room's key was able to open another room's key. And when we asked for our keys when returning to the hotel, the front desk person didn't even ask us our names or any other identification questions and almost gave us the wrong room key. The level of security at this hotel definitely needs improvement.

Otherwise, good things about this hotel is the general friendliness of the staff (despite some who were dishonest about the shuttlebus), and their helpfulness in helping us choose the local tours around Santorini.

As a visitor from America with my 3 young nieces I was wondering what kind of accommodations we would find at such a reasonable price.
I needn't have worried, the hotel was pristinelyclean.the pool sparkling clean, the staff and owners absolutely wonderful, friendly and helpful.
We had a room with a pool view , just a short walk to town. Across the street, great view of the caldera.
We will stay here again when we hopefully come to santorini again and recommend this hotel highly to all our family and freinds.

A very charming family owned hotel. The staff was amazing and very helpful. They even pick you up and drive you to and from the port.

It's very centrally located, just a five minute walk from the city.

Our room was impeccable and had an amazing view of the volcano surrounded by the Mediterranean sea.

My only complaint was that breakfast was not included.
