What a beautiful location! We visited the island and the Enigma in early October this year. Very easy access to everything but still a quiet and relaxing place. Great apartments, great views, very caring and helpfull staff. Choose one of the jacuzzi suites and enjoy the sunset sipping on one of the superb coctails they serve. We enjoyed every bit of it and are dreaming of coming back one day.

Room Tip: One of the jacuzzi suites

I stayed here in June 2013 and it was the highlight of my trip. The room itself is basic, nothing special at all, but each room has a balcony with the most breathtaking views you can imagine. Every evening we came back here before dinner and watched the sunset. And every morning, our breakfast was personally served on our balcony which was a really nice touch. The location is excellent, in the middle of everything, and the service was fabulous. There was no pool, however we were advised that we could use the pool of a nearby hotel. However, given there was so much to do, we actually never even ended up using it. I highly highly recommend!

Room Tip: I think our room was just the standard one but even these have the most gorgeous views. I think the...

I have been to Greece so many times but it was my first time in Santorini. It was October. The weather was very nice. We even went for swimming. Only last night was rainy but that has also its own beauty. Enigma Hotel was located in the cliffs has an excellent view. Starting from front desk all the staff were very friendly and helpful and kind. The rooms were very lovely, ours had two floors. Different rooms have different facilities. But I can say all the rooms are very clean and has nice architecture and not to forget excellent view. Our plan included breakfast which was very satisfactory. The Hotel offered complimentary vine and desert. They also help with the transportation and gave very valuable advice for dining and exploring. If I would go to Santorini I definetely stay at Enigma Hotel and look nowhere else.

Room Tip: Our room was standard room. We went as three families. All the rooms were very good and the all have...

We just returned from a two week vacation in Greece and Turkey. After the first week on a cruise we got off in Santorini and spent the second week at the Enigma. I had read all the reviews on Trip Advisor to find our place to stay and I can say everyone was spot on! Enigma is a fabulous place to stay. Fantastic location, extremely clean, and the service is outstanding!
Key points:
1. Chrisoula was helpful from the beginning, patiently and promptly answering all my many questions via email. Upon arrival she was always available to assist us with recommendations and to make reservations and arrangements for us.
2. As mentioned breakfast is included and cheerfully delivered to your room each day by Eddie. The bread basket and especially the warm croissants were delicious. I also developed a love for the Greek yogurt with Santorini honey.
3. The location is great. You are right on Gold Street so it is an easy walk to all of Fira's shops and restaurants. We ate at several restaurants across the street which were excellent. The main bus depot is only about 2 blocks away and bus service is an easy way to get around. Warning: they run on time or maybe a little early so be at the stop a little early. The buses wait for no one!
4. The view of the caldera cannot be beat! Yes, you need to go to Oia for a sunset but we found that it was more enjoyable sitting on our patio at Enigma with a bottle of wine and the view was just as good!
5. The rooms are very nice and extremely clean. Each one is different with features that may make one more appealing than another based on your preferences. There are a lot of stairs so keep that in mind. The hotel is on 4 levels. The higher numbered rooms are at the bottom so 7 & 8 are at the bottom of the stairs and 1 & 2 at the top. There is a restaurant on the top floor so weigh noise against steps. We stayed in #7 which shares a patio with #8 but 8 has a separate terrace so we only saw our neighbors when they were coming or going. (Would be great for two families traveling together.) The suite was great. Two queen beds with one in a separate bedroom, a big bathroom, kitchenette and all on one floor. The donkeys go right by the terrace on their way to and from the steps down to the port. We were upgraded to #3 which had a hot tub and a terrace which was great. It also meant climbing half as many stairs but the trade off was that the bed was in a loft up a curvy set of stairs so getting up in the middle of the night was a little scary. It did have a couch on the main level that could be used as a bed though but the closet was upstairs and the bathroom much smaller. From what we saw #8 and #4 were both very nice and top choices.

We were there at the very end of the season. In fact the hotel closed the day we left. Many of the top restaurants were already closed so keep that in mind if planning your trip in late October. It was nice not having all the crowds though!
