“A restful and beautiful stay in Santorini”
Reviewed 8 August 2013

This hotel is exceptional. Beautifully decorated and located in a tranquil part of Fira (just a 5 minute walk from town on the main road), this hotel with tons of sunlight and picturesque views of the caldera and the sea is a steal. Irini, the hotelier who, along with her family, staffs the hotel, is exceptional--friendly, accommodating, and very knowledgeable about different tours and activities on the island, which she will happily book for you. She will also arrange a transfer for you from the ferry or airport, though you can save money by taking public bus, which will bring you to the main bus station a five-minute walk from the hotel (at the beginning of the heart of town).

While not super fancy, the hotel is impeccably clean and well-kept, with mural-painted walls and a very open and airy feel. We stayed in a cute, lofted room, where the bed and vanity were on a mezzanine level about the kitchenette and bathroom--roomy but the ceiling is low towards the sides of the loft. AC works well, but you can even open the windows at night for a refreshing island breeze.

They do not serve breakfast but rather have a "starter kit" of breakfast items in the fridge in each room, including butter, jam, some crackers and packaged chocolate croissants, water, and juice. There's a great supermarket two minutes down the road where you can buy food to supplement these items. Our room also had a stovetop, which we could have used to cook meals but didn't. (On a related note, we recommend the restaurant Salt and Pepper for delicious, affordable, and locally-inspired and -sourced cuisine--it's also on the main road, but on the other side of the main part of town, about 10 minutes away from the hotel.)

We would happily stay here again. Give it a try--you won't be disappointed!

We only had a short stay in Santorini (2 nights, one full day) and wanted to get the most out of our time there. Eirini couldn't have been any more helpful, she was great right from the moment I booked our accommodation online when she emailed me confirming the booking and asking if there was anything else she could do for us. When we arrived we discussed a few different options for the next day and settled on a tour which Eirini recommended.
The hotel seemed like it was out of town when we first arrived but that impression was wrong - as other reviews say it's less than 5 minutes walk from the first shops and is only a 10 minute walk to the Old Port steps which is where you want to go as a tourist - the views of the sunset were amazing.
The hotel is small but immaculate and we think it offers excellent value for money. We had tea/coffee making facilities and a fridge in our room and the bed was comfortable (I only mention this because the bed in the previous hotel we stayed in wasn't) plus the shower in the en-suite pumped out plenty of water :-) Aircon, WI-FI and a fan in the room topped things off nicely :-) One other thing, there was no smell of cigarette smoke in the room, which was great!
We have no hesitation in recommending the Nemesis Hotel to anyone looking for an affordable, nice place to stay with an excellent hostess who will ensure you get the most out of your time on Santorini.

Having made a last-minute booking for our final night on Santorini, we were pleased to discover truly excellent value for money in this attractive, compact hotel only 5 minutes from Fira town centre. Upper front room balconies offer extensive views of the Caldera. And while these overlook the main road into town, efficient double glazing eliminates most of the traffic noise, and the near-silent air conditioning works very effectively.

Our room was spotlessly clean, extremely attractive and surprisingly large, with a very neat bathroom. What makes this hotel different from most others is the sheer style of the interior: white marble staircases, enormous potted plants and original artwork on all landings, in the form of vivid murals, painted, we were told, by a Chinese artist whose work had appealed to Eirini, the wonderfully friendly and welcoming owner.

We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone wanting a combination of comfort, style and surprisingly good value close to the heart of the action on this extraordinary island.

We stayed here for 3 nights. The location, though not strictly on the Caldera , is just about 5 mins walk from the city center. The Caldera facing rooms provide a great view of the sunset from the balcony. We had booked a Studio Room, which had the bedroom on the upper floor and may have been difficult for a bigger guy. The bathroom was rather small.

The hostess Irene, was very helpful. We corresponded with her on mail before coming and she even organized a port pickup at 8 euros per person. She even gave us a 10% discount on the bill as we paid by cash. She was very helpful also in helping on any query we had.

On the whole, a great place, very near to the city center with great view. Great value for money at 50 euros per night in Fira.

Small and perfect for our 14 nights stay in Santorini. Short walk to the supermarket and the center of town. For exploring the island by bus it's 3 minutes to the bus station. Our room was a front studio where we enjoyed breakfast on the terrasse. Pleasant stay with no hassel, excellent service with answers to all our questions. Price was right.

Room Tip: Try to get a front studio or room to enjoy watching local life and the subset. Room on the back are...

We stayed there for 4 nights and took a room and an apartement.
THe rooms were very clean and modern. Very well kept.
The location is very good. Not at the city center but 300 meters from the bus station and 5 minutes walk to the center.
The owner was very friendly and helpfull.
In general , when comparing the reasonoble price and the very good conditions and location it is a very good selection.

Room Tip: The view is not so great at the side of the Caledra and the road can be noisy. I wouldn't pay ex...
