“A summer tradition”

This is my third visit. Beautiful setting. Beach is sandy, has shallow kiddie area as well as deeper swimming area. Canoes and kayaks are available. Cottages (tupas) are well-furnished and attractive. Pizza delivery available, otherwise use the grills provided or the well-equipped kitchens. Bring your own beach towels, hair dryers, charcoal and food. Grocery store in a nearby town (Northville). No TV or cell phone service, so if you can't handle that, its not your kind of place. Office staff has lists of nearby attractions (horseback riding, hiking and others)if the beach, the lake and just enjoying the calm aren't enough. My only concern was that Latu Tupa doesn't lock from the inside ( I think the other tupas do lock and hopefully, this will be fixed.inside)

We love it. Our third year was just as magnificent as the first 2. With 7 cousins in tow, ages, 3-11, we had a great time boating, fishing, swimming, biking, and feeding the reindeer. As soon as I arrived at the lake I remembered why this is one of my favorite spots. Idyllic. Quiet. Wonderful hosts. Terrific sauna. Self-catering cottages are perfect. A little rustic, but exactly as a vacation should be - without TV or telephones (unless you need/want to use the phone/wireless in the lodge). Did I mention, we love it?!

Room Tip: Pulka tupa now has a recently renovated and handicap accessible bathroom. Nice, even if you don'...

Even though we only live 25 minutes away, myself and 3 friends and our kids booked our yearly "AdiMOMdacker" trip to Lapland. We had such a wonderful time! Swimming, exploring, biking, hiking, boating, oh, and a little bit of relaxing! We stayed in Latu Tupa, which was perfect for 4 adults and 6 kids ranging from 5-9 years old. Ann, Olavi and the entire staff make you feel right at home. Since we are "locals", it's fun to meet the guests who travel many hours to stay here. I take for granted that this special place is right in my "backyard" and it is truly a special place! Can't wait for the snow to fly...jammies inside out!! (OK...it's a bit early for that yet!)

Deer, newts, toads, fish and a reindeer!! Our 4 children (ages 11-1) all thoroughly enjoyed their week at Lapland Lake Resort. The activity options are varied: we hiked, we swam, we canoed, we kayaked, we enjoyed storytelling & s'mores. We met many nice people, especially the owners and staff. It was perfect, we will definitely be back!

We booked Lapland Lake for our family reunion in 2013. My husband and I and our 15 year old granddaughter went there for a couple of days in July to check it out. It's everything their website says, but the website can't convey the warmth of the people or the beauty of the site. The Tupas (cabins) are great, very compact but clean, complete and cozy and the beds are comfortable.

The website is very clear that there is no cell phone service (and I can verify this) and internet is available only at the main office, and there is no TV. If you are looking for a getaway, I would recommend this place to anyone!

Room Tip: Only a few of the rooms have queen beds, but their website is very clear on the layout and bedding o...

My lady and I booked a cottage at Lapland for just two nights as we're limited because we are caring for my elderly mother who is battling cancer. Also, it's only a little over an hour away from where we live, which was good in case there was an emergency, etc. Even though it's close by it's like another world once you get there! The lake, the woods, the rustic cottages, the peace and tranquility! From the beginning, the staff there are all wonderful. The other guests we encountered - every one friendly and nice. The cottage was totally comfortable, clean and well furnished with everything you need- We had a great time swimming and kayaking in the lake, bicycling and hiking on the trails. Grilling in the yard on our private grill (each cottage has their own). In short, it's a fantastic getaway and I highly recommend it!

Room Tip: We were happy with our cottage but every one we saw seemed just as nice, no location seemed more adv...

Gino, thank you for sharing! Guests tell us all the time it feels like another world here. Many of our European guests tell us it reminds them of home with birch trees, streams, our tranquil lake and forests. Olavi and I love sharing this special place and look forward to having you with us again soon. And, yes, we know our guests are the most amazing and delightful people on earth!

We LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVED Lapland lake!
It was the perfect peaceful...gorgeous...relaxing...tech free escape we all were craving!
We were so sad to leave and easily could have stayed for 2 weeks!

The Tupa (Suksi) had everything that we needed...even a cork screw and coffee filters (twon things were forgot) It was exceptionally clean and adorable!

The mattresses were decent...we both have bad backs and were comfortable on them. We brought our own pillows...although those provided were fluffy and clean. Did not see a speck of trash ANYWHERE!!!!!

The owners and all of the staff are wonderful and inviting...while allowing you the privacy to feel as though we were at our own home.

We will DEFINITELY return next year! We miss the Reindeer already! Bring Bikes for sure!

Room Tip: The lake is crystal clear and gorgeous....completely untainted! The whole forest is there to explor...
