My family and I stayed overnight at the Orendaga in the Blue Heron Suite no. 1. The cabin was very comfortable we especially enjoyed the fireplace. We were in the area looking at property and the owners were very accommodating and helpful with giving us information about the area. We will definitely be returning.

Every Columbus Day weekend, my wife and i make our sojurn to Northville, New York; to enjoy the leaf peeking season...in the Sacandaga Lake region.
Over the years we have stayed at several different accomodations, until we discovered the Orendaga. Now the Orendaga is our yearly tradition.
The Orendaga, right on Northville Lake, offers memorable views, spacious living rooms, with everything you need for a perfect stay....and very attentive owner/hosts.
At the Southern most entry to The Adirondack Park, this is a must stop for the perfect get-a-way vacation.

We absolutely loved the Bluebird Cabin at the Orendaga. Beautiful setting, clean, quiet, comfortable, has everything you need, and great accommodating owners. We drove around the lake, hiked Auger Falls, and ate in the village. Very relaxing!

A friend and I had only one night in the Blue Heron Suite No. 1. The place is very calm, direct at the lake and the rooms are very tasteful furnished and decorated in harmony with the character of the buildings and the landscape. As it was already mid October when we got there it was cool, but the fireplace made it cozy (and after a while quite hot). I would not recommend this special Suite for winter, especially not when you need the extra bed in the kitchen/living room then you need to turn off the fireplace. I can imagine it is a dream during spring/summer/early fall, especially when you can swim in the lake. Lack of a decent grocery store is a problem, Restaurants where mostly closed that day, but the owners plan to open a bistro in near future. And we also heard from Michele, one of the owner, there is a good equipped supermarket 25 minutes away and a very good farmers market in summer. All in all, extremely nice experience and worth to support the little green and sustainable Inn in a town which is still a sleeping beauty with lots of ideas and little money.

My wife and I spent 3 nights at The Orendaga, in the Orendaga Cabin for our 20th Anniversary. My wife summed up our stay as "Charming Cottage, splendid lake, great coffee, beautiful pottery, lovely soaps, friendly helpful owners. We cant wait to come back. The Orendaga has everything."

We had a great time, Michele, one of the owners was so helpful through out our stay, offering suggestions of things to do, very knowledgeable about the region. The cabin was very clean, beds were comfortable, a great place to stay.

This was our very first "lake" vacation, we usually take the children to the shore. Town is VERY quiet, had trouble finding a place to eat on Monday night. Stayed in the Bluebird cabin, well equipped, clean, charming quilts and bedding, throws on the couches, electric fire (which we needed one night when it got down to 50 degrees). Loved the screened in porch for morning coffee, and my boys were overjoyed at the spiral staircase that led to the sleeping loft. Small twin bedroom was adorable, the bed was bouncy though. Appliances worked great, we cooked breakfast and ate out most other meals. Fishing is better in the Great Sacandaga lake. I agree with another post that non-stick cookware was beat up and scratched, I don't use this at home so was reluctant to cook with the pans. Should be replaced. BBQ grills are a little rusty. We did a campfire the last night and made s'mores, the kids did not want to leave. We are already talking about taking all the cabins next summer with family and friends. Perfect getaway for a family!

Remodeled cabins in a lakeside setting on the outskirts of the small town of Northville. Stayed in the Bluebird, a two bedroom cabin with a queen and a twin bedroom and a separate sleeping loft with two twins accessed via a steep and narrow spiral staircase. No a/c in the cabins and it was warm one night so sleep was not very comfortable. LIving room furniture is not at all comfortable for evening reading or TV watching, thankfully it didn't rain so we spent minimal time indoors. Large screened porch overlooking the lawn and obstructed lake view was enjoyable. Shared fire pit and grill area with picnic tables was pleasant in the evenings. Mattresses were OK, the twin bed was a bid springy. Pots and pans provided were very scratched non-stick variety which made me reluctant to use them, these should have been replaced long ago. Small swimming area with offshore floating dock. This is a lake and there is a fair amount of plant growth so swimming may not be enjoyed by all. Row boats and kayaks provided. The additional charges for more than two guests seem a bit excessive given that there is no daily housekeeping, and the additional utility costs can't be that much. There is not much going on in town, but some nice hikes in the local area. Owners seem to care about the property and have greatly improved it, I think with a few tweaks this could be a great spot for future stays.
