Ballinkeele House is a gracious old pile in a bucolic setting not far from Enniscorthy or Wexford. We have stayed in a lot of these places which look so lovely in the pictures, look grand as you approach on the long drive and then disappoint so completely on arrival. Ballinkeele was not one of these disappointments. From the first view to the warm welcome by owner/host Laura you are made to feel as if you are coming home to your very own Irish estate. The house is maintained beautifully. It is scrupulously clean and fresh. The rooms are impressive without being intimidating. The sound of Laura and husband Val’s young children waft through the long halls letting you know this is a well loved home along with a five star B&B.

Breakfasts in the grand dining room were delicious. Dinner which we partook of on both nights of our stay was prepared to perfection. It is hard to find a place with no faults, but this is one of them. Request a room with a bath. These are the more historic rooms.

We will definitely return next year.

We stayed here on a spontaneous weekend away, we hadn't booked anything and were looking for somewhere special and were lucky there had been a cancellation.
The house is beautiful, the room was gorgeous and full of character. The grounds are lovely, you can go for a nice walk around the lake and in the walled garden, it's all so charming.
Laura was lovely, she showed us around the house and told us the history of the place. She was also extremely helpful and accommodating.
We didn't have dinner there but the breakfast was delicious.

Really recommend it, it's a gem of a place.

We had a lovely week end in Ballinkeele house. Laura and Val made us feel so welcome, the food was superb and so is the location. It is truly a beautiful and historical place, as well as being very comfortable and cosy. No better place to celebrate our 20th anniversary!

We only stayed for one night but it was amazing. We couldn't fault anything about the house, food or location. It was what the doctor ordered after a week of exams. It was lovely to see a stately home been used as a family home that's what it felt like. The amount of original fixtures and fitting was impressive and a credit to the current owners.

I stayed with friends at Ballinkeele house for 3days. This was one of the highlights of my trip to Ireland. Val and Laura are wonderful hosts and masters at making their guests welcome. The beautiful and stately house is so well kept, displaying many generations treasures. The bedrooms are beautifully appointed. The whole visit was warm and relaxing. I will certainly visit again when I return to Ireland.
