“Delightful Irish Country House Experience”
Reviewed 24 March 2014

If you are looking for a gracious, relaxed, welcoming but unpretentious experience, this should be high on you list. The house has a lovely ambience, a fine example of Georgian elegance in pristine condition and in a beautiful setting. Val, Laura and their family are so professional and yet make it all so relaxed. Simple but delicious food thoughtfully prepared, great walks, easy access to nearby beauty spots like Curracloe, with Wexford an easy drive away. This exceeded all of our expectations, and though not inexpensive was wonderful value. We will be back again.

Second time at this venue and once again very impressed with the level of service, food and cleanliness of the location. The current custodians are lovely and very welcoming. Could not recommend it enough to anyone.

This is the best place I,ve stayed in for a long time. If you want to experience an authentic piece of irish hospitality then this is for you. I personally find hotels sterile and impersonal and tend to avoid them. Ballinkeeli is run by a lovely family who are good examples ofwhat we do so well here in ireland: a warm welcome and a real open down to earth friendlyness. So many places have forgotten this and its something irish people are actually good at.
This is of course before the house which is an amazing place, a living museum. The house and the grounds are an experience.
Go there before you die.

We stayed here as a birthday treat and I have to say its exactly as I wished it would be. The house is spotlessly clean with gorgeous decor and we received a warm welcome from Laura, Val and their family (especially Robin!).

Being an older house I expected it to be cold but this was far from the case.

Our room was huge with lovely period furniture. Laura gave us a tour of the house pointing out the different historical features.

Food was basic but adequate.

All in all a very positive experience and was enjoyed by all.

Ballinkeele House is a gracious old pile in a bucolic setting not far from Enniscorthy or Wexford. We have stayed in a lot of these places which look so lovely in the pictures, look grand as you approach on the long drive and then disappoint so completely on arrival. Ballinkeele was not one of these disappointments. From the first view to the warm welcome by owner/host Laura you are made to feel as if you are coming home to your very own Irish estate. The house is maintained beautifully. It is scrupulously clean and fresh. The rooms are impressive without being intimidating. The sound of Laura and husband Val’s young children waft through the long halls letting you know this is a well loved home along with a five star B&B.

Breakfasts in the grand dining room were delicious. Dinner which we partook of on both nights of our stay was prepared to perfection. It is hard to find a place with no faults, but this is one of them. Request a room with a bath. These are the more historic rooms.

We will definitely return next year.

We stayed here on a spontaneous weekend away, we hadn't booked anything and were looking for somewhere special and were lucky there had been a cancellation.
The house is beautiful, the room was gorgeous and full of character. The grounds are lovely, you can go for a nice walk around the lake and in the walled garden, it's all so charming.
Laura was lovely, she showed us around the house and told us the history of the place. She was also extremely helpful and accommodating.
We didn't have dinner there but the breakfast was delicious.

Really recommend it, it's a gem of a place.

We had a lovely week end in Ballinkeele house. Laura and Val made us feel so welcome, the food was superb and so is the location. It is truly a beautiful and historical place, as well as being very comfortable and cosy. No better place to celebrate our 20th anniversary!
