We stayed in this hotel last week for 5 nights with our 1 and 3 year-old. We had difficulty finding the hotel, because there were no signs on the way directing us. The room was very small for 4, it is ot OK if you are more than 3. It was an open bathroom, meaning the bathroom was not a seperate area from the room, it was in the room, toilet had one glass door, the shower had one glass door and the sink was what you saw first as you entered the room. The sea was not good at all, we tried once but gave up as it was too wavy. The pools and slides were nice but I had to go there 8:30 latest to have a sunbed. The food was OK, we could always find something to feed ourselves. The kid's restaurant was nice, our boys liked sitting there. But we liked food outside the main restaurant better. Turkish wraps, cakes were life saving. Eventhough this hotel has some downsides, I still think it was worth the money, and we enjoyed our holiday.

Hotel is very nice and modern. For the most part it is completed but there is some building work still underway for the fairground and tennis courts at teh entrance driveway.

Found the location a let down, classed as Belek but it is a good way out of Belek and expensive to take a taxi there.

Major issue with room sizes, as a family of 2 adults and 2 children (3&6), we booked with Thomas Cook, given a standard room. When we arrived there were only 3 beds and the hotel staff tried to shoe horn in another bed (after taking out half the furniture) which was right next to a light and electrical socket (for a 3 year old). The room was tiny, never seen a room so small, just ok for 3. Hotel agreed rooms are too small for 4 but dont care how many are in the room, say this is what was booked for us. We had to pay 40 euros per night to upgrade to a family room. We are complaining to TC about the room sizes, we shoud have been advised the rooms are very small and not suitable for 4, we would have booked a family room if we had known this. Complaint has been lodged to TC about the added costs we incurred.

Family travellers beware about the rooms!

The family room was great and service good. Complex is quite compact and sun loungers are an issue.

The workmanship aroound the hotel is suspect and everything looks ok just now but give it a few seasons and things will not look so good. Plumbing issues in the bathroom areas, wet pacthes on the lobby walls, levels around the pools are way out. No spirit levels used and tradesmen should have gone to Specsavers before they got cracking.

Enjoyed the holiday and hotel but let down with the room issue. I would not go back again, sorry.

First impressions was hotel lovely all nice and new and lovely and modern, although the lead up to the hotel was very swamp landish. Who ever goes there will have a great time, especially those who do not do all-inclusive very often. We go all-in a lot and we had a lot to compare it to and the ones who do Lara beach hotels will be disapionted.

There was 2 things I did not like about this hotel;
1. The food was terrible. The only real meat we had was liver twice, turkey once and fish twice. The rest was either stir fries or in the warming dishes there was bland stews. The salads were yesterdays veg covered in majo and spam. After the first 2 days the hotel was full and the puds went from choc covered strawberries to cake of different colours cut into squares but still somehow tasting the same. It was very samey and the woman doing the fresh oj at breakfast disapeared after 3 days and the oj went down hill after that. Breakfast and pool bar snacks pretty standard.

2. The pool area is too small, I've never seen one so small. Every inch is covered in sunbeds so you are packed in like sardines. If you want to move your sunbed to face the sun forget it theres no room and because the area is so small there is not enough sunbeds for everyone. There was one couple sunbathing on the floor as no beds and I saw one of the porters get a bed from the beach for a pregnant lady. They did start no reserving beds before 9am but people will get around this other wise your not getting a bed. When the Sensi Mar opens its going to be manic there as they will be sharing the water slides (not a park) so they will be using the beds too. Theres no grounds to walk around so they can't put beds among the trees. Its a big problem.

The teething problems are pretty minor and the building work on the fun fair and tennis courts did not effect me, although I heard some people complain about it.

Things that could anoy you if you let it;
1. The standard rooms are really small, they are very narrow. They are like this because they have saved a few feet by not having a door for the bathroom so they can get more rooms in. there was 3 of us so it did feel a bit squashed at time, but hey it was only a week.
2. When we were there the smellies were very limited, dove handwash by the sink and in the shower! and a sewing kit that was it. Yes ours did fall off the wall and getting it re-filled was hard work. Used to having a lot more than that, but my hair did not fall out and my skin was nice and soft.
3. Open plan bathroom a bit odd, it did not bother us but it might for some people.
4. Nice flat screen TVs and 1 English channel BBC World. Used to a couple more like cartoon channel for son to watch so we can get ready in peace and film channel for when you want too escape the sun, but it was only a week.
5. The air conditioning was rubbish. When we were there it was on from 4pm to 7pm and 9pm to 1am and at those times it was nice a cool, but in the mornings it was very stuffy. On our last 2 days they put it on from 7am to 9am and when they did this ours stopped blowing out cold air altogether. The fan still worked which circulated the air but it was not cold. We did ask several time to have it looked at but with no luck so we woke up like little sweat balls.
6. It was nice having a kettle in our room and it would have been even nicer if they would have remembered to re-fill the coffee. We had to ask Guest Relations evryday and then they would always forget the whitener, so we just got a glass of milk from the bar and put it in our fridge. Not a major hassle really.

We meet some lovely people who I know will keep in touch and thats what made our holiday really. I can not see why they are calling this hotel 5* ultra inclusive I think they are adding a star becauce its new. The soft drinks in the mini bar were a nice touch but there was no international drinks and waiter service around the pool which is what you would expect at this level.
Would I go again? No the outside area is too small and the food was rubbish, there are a lot of nicer hotels out there.

Room Tip: As long as you know the downfalls it will be grea.

the holiday was very enjoyable from start to finish the hotel was excellent as was the quality of the food and drinks and with such a vast array of choices, you never get bored. The entertainment staff especially the boys that do the outside and pool games are great fun. Rio Tarik and Romo re always full of life and laughing all day. They make you feel really welcome, The nighttime entertainment in the theatr is great the shows are always funny well rehursed and costumes well designed. Definately would return to Sherwood DReams, even looking to return in Oct this year.

We arrived at the hotel not even sure if it was open. Was like a building site at the
front of the hotel, but the grounds and inside were ok mostly. Was a problem with
the lifts not working properly and we were on 5th floor, they did move us to the ground
floor when we explained that I had asthma.

Beware of two things though. Firstly they charge you 3 euros a day for the safe
which over two weeks is approx £37.00 never had to pay this on an all inclusive
holiday before. Also take a travel iron as they wont lend or hire you one and
will again charge 3 euros per item,

Bar and restaurant staff very helpful friendly, Reception staff dont seem
to understand English very much at all though they had no problems
with the 95% of germans who were there.

Thomas Cook rep tried to help but again reception staff didnt appear to understand
her and kept telling her to go away

The food was good although a bit repetative but we always found something to eat, and
the food at the snacks bars was good.

All in all we did have a good holiday but we wont be returning to this hotel

Room Tip: ask for ground floor

We (couple with 11 year old) returned from the Sherwood Dreams on 30th May after a one week stay.

The hotel only opened 2 weeks before we arrived, so I went with an open mind and expected some teething problems, I was pleasantly surprised how few I found.

Some building work (children's fun fair) is still going on but expected to be finished within the next few weeks, I was not affected by the work but a few people complained about the work going on well into the early hours.

We booked a standard room with a side sea view which is what we got this was OK for the 3 of us, a king-size and a single bed, plus a chair that I think would transform into a bed, if this was used it would have been cramped, plenty of wardrobe space, LCD TV, mini bar with soft drinks and water which was refilled daily, tea & coffee making facilities - Turkish flavored tea, Nescafe, sugar & coffee-mate, if you like English tea take your own, open plan bathroom which did not work for me - no privacy, balcony with 2 chairs and a small table, room was cleaned to a very good standard always fresh towels and bedding.

Water slides for all ages, open 10 - 12.30pm and 2 - 4.30pm not always a lifeguard on duty!! not busy when we were there, when the Sensimar hotel opens (sister hotel across the road) the water slides will be shared by both hotel guests.

Nice pools with plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas but they do get taken very early, the day before we left a notice was put up asking guests not to reserve loungers before 9am, the hotel is trying to sort the problem out, beach towels are provided and can be exchanged every day at the towel hut.

The kids club are small brightly coloured tents which I think will be stifling in the hot weather, good play equipment/playground I cannot comment on how it is run as my Daughter did not attend, children also have a special area in the main restaurant with brightly coloured tables and chair and there own buffet section, kids disco in the Amphitheatre at 8.30pm every night.

Lovely Spa area with Turkish bath, steam room, sauna, indoor pool with jacuzzi, gym, vitamin bar and changing room facilities with toilets, showers and lockers, they offer various spa treatments - I had a Turkish bath with peeling, face pack and a hot stone massage for 75 Euros it was worth every penny!!

We hired a Pavilion near the beach for 50 Euros a day (9 - 6pm) this included food and drink with waiter service, fridge filled with soft drinks and water, basket of fresh fruit and a bottle of fizzy Cider which was very nice!!

Good selection of snacks available most of the day - waffles, pizza, Turkish pancakes, fresh chicken, kebab, hamburgers, hot dogs and chips.

Ice cream available 1 - 5pm.

I was disappointed with the food in the main restaurant, not a lot of variety and lukewarm,(microwave available behind the bar) this was not helped by guests leaving the lids off the food!! more or less the same food and cakes for every meal, breakfast was fine but there was always a queue for the 'one' toaster, I also expected to see more show - cooking like I've experienced in other hotels in Belek, the restaurant is quieter after 8.15pm when families start to leave for the kid's disco.

Theme nights in the main restaurant -
Monday - Fish.
Tuesday - Italian.
Wednesday - Asian.
Thursday - Black & White (I think this is International)
Friday - Turkish.
Saturday - International.
Sunday - Normal buffet.

2 a la cartes restaurants - International and Italian we enjoyed both, excellent service. (you are allowed one a la carte per 7 day stay - book with guest relations in reception)

Small selection of cakes/cookies in Patisserie 4 - 5pm

Late snacks available from midnight till 1am - soup and tiny cheese or ham sandwiches.

Disco 11pm - 2am.

Lemon flower bar (under the lobby/reception area) open 24 hours.

Carisma bar - lobby/reception area open till 11.30pm (free Internet connection)

Thomas Cook advertise some International branded drinks included - only one I could find was Absolute vodka but this was hidden in a cupboard under the bar, and got withdrawn 2 days before we left!!! the beer is efes, white wine could have been better but I believe the Rose was nice, a good choice of cocktails, great Mojitos, service was excellent in all bars never waited long for drinks.

The animation/entertainment team work very hard (especially Boby) they organise all kinds of activities in the day - darts, riffle shooting, aqua aerobics, water polo, that kind of thing, they also organise the entertainment in the Amphitheater most evenings, every week the hotel bring in outside entertainment - Brazilian night every other Saturday night and Turkish night every other Friday. Sorry I can not comment on any of the entertainment in the Amphitheater as it is not my thing, we did see a group on Tuesday night in the snack bar area around 10.15pm and they were good, people got up to dance, other nights they play different types of music, it can be loud.

Laundry service - extra charge

Safe extra charge - 3 Euros a day

Bowling extra charge - 4 Euros p.p.

Arcade - snooker, pool, various machines all with extra charge.

Internet cafe with 3 computers extra charge - 1 hour - 5 Euros. 30 mins - 3 Euros. 15 mins - 2 Euros.

Room service - extra charge

Fun fair - extra charge

Late check out room - till 4pm 45 Euros or till 8pm 65 Euros, can only be booked on the morning of your departure depending if the hotel is full or not

The hotel as various shops - Jewellery, Leather, Shoes & Bags, Boutique, Hairdressers - (not open yet) and a General store - for newspapers, sweets, inflatables, sun lotion & bits and bobs.

Market every Wednesday - at the bottom of the road.

Taxi - Side return 80 Euros. Antalya airport 50 Euro.

A lot of guests were complaining about various things to the poor Thomas Cook rep (Chez)who on one occasion had a panic attack and was in tears with all the abuse she was getting, in my opinion she is too young and inexperienced to take on the responsibility of a new hotel, TC did not provide her with any information on the hotel but lots about trips she could sell!!! go easy on her!

I really can not fault the staff they all worked really hard and always gave 5 star service - well on par with other hotels we have stayed in the Belek and Lara Beach areas, I recognised some staff from the Xanadu hotel we stayed last August.

A special thank you to Emine (guest relations) who took the time to answer all my questions, she was really helpful and very approachable.

We really enjoyed our holiday thanks to some lovely people we met mostly from TA - thanks for your company everyone!

Overall a nice hotel - but l felt let down by the standard of food and drink for this reason I would not return.

The hotel seems very popular with Brit's, quite a few when we were there.

I've posted lots of photos!
