“Avoid at all costs”

This place gives me shivers just thinking of it. Where do I begin??? Upon arriving, we were disgusted by the exterior. It literally looks like someones old, run down, abandoned house. Drugs were being done right outside the motel by some creeps, and we were immediately offered some as we proceeded to the entrance. I thought the place would collapse any second... that run down. The "front desk" lady (obviously just the owner who probably does everything) "checked us in" and we proceeded to our rooms. No elevator, obviously... just some creepy steep stairs. As we were climbing another freak crossed our path... literally offering us a porn party in his room. We refused, absolutely disgusted and kept going. The rooms were horrendous. Dirty, stinky, old, falling apart, light bulbs out, stained everything, just appalling. We had no working light bulbs in the bathroom! We had to use our cell phone flashlights to see! Breakfast the next morning was just cold cereal, then we headed right out of the dungeon and will never ever ever return. I just hope I don't contract some disease from the place. Avoid at all costs, and thank me later.

I knew what I was getting into. What can you possibly expect for $45 a night? This place must have been built for Best Western at least 25 years ago, but since been sold and then never updated by a new owner. I was in the area for business and needed a place to stay for one night. I read the other reviews on Trip Advisor and decided that the Budget Inn Ontario (as it is now called) would not be great, but would be okay. The location was certainly right for me, so I decided to take a chance.

In the end, the room was clean enough to keep me from turning around and driving back to a Hampton Inn in Rochester, but I still wanted to take a vacuum to the carpet and wipe everything down with a surface cleaner. At least the room was non-smoking (there was a large section of non-smoking rooms.) When I arrived in the room, its temperature couldn't have been higher than 50F. I put my things down, cranked the heat as high as it would go, and then left for a couple of hours for the room to warm up. I understand that you can't heat empty rooms in a motel where few people stay, but someone could have thought to turn on the heat in the room before I arrived. The heater was one of those typical, hotel-style hot-air things. It made a lot of noise, and eventually when the room warmed up (which it finally did about four hours later) it was hard to regulate.

The entire hotel looks worn out, which, again, for $45 a night, what do you expect? It wasn't a big deal for me, my plan was to sleep there and then leave. If you're coming here to hang out between family visits or with a couple of kids, well, just don't. Look elsewhere. If you need lots of business services and amenities, again, don't stay here. Though, the WiFi worked great and was free.

On the plus side, the bathroom was spotless, the sheets and towels were clean and fresh. The exception was the bedspread, which was dingy and needed to be replaced. I was pretty chilly so I decided to stop thinking about the bedspread and just use it. The shower's water pressure was great and the water temperature was nice and hot.

Let's be serious: I won't stay here again, but it could have been much worse.

Room Tip: Choose a room in another motel.

The wireless internet in this motel is terrible. Constant problems with connecting to the different access points. Management is indifferent to the problem and does not seem to care. If you are looking for reliable wireless internet, do not stay here.

This is a great motel for the money. The beds are comfortable, and it is clean, that's the most important thing. Don't be afraid of outward apperances, remember, looks can be deceiving.
