“They know how to run a B&B”

We couldn't have asked for a better stay. The owners and employees have all the details down perfectly: the right amount of friendliness without being pushy, amenities like afternoon snacks and beverages, an outstanding breakfast that doesn't require you to be in your seat at 8:00 sharp. Not to mention, the grounds and location are lovely. Looking forward to going back some day!

My husband and I spent our 25th wedding anniversary at the Orient Inn. It could not have been a more perfect choice. The proprietors, Joan and Howard, are delightful, the food a visual and gastronomical treat, and the North Fork of LI beautiful. I hope to make the Orient Inn a habit.

The Orient Inn has indeed found that unique balance of comfort and luxury without pretense all wrapped up into one. The beautiful house is well cared for by the owners, but it isn't overdone. We only stayed for one night, but wished it had been longer. This is the kind of B&B where you can rock on the front porch or put your feet up in the front living room without worrying that you're messing something up. The rooms are tastefully decorated with elegant simplicity with attention to small things like specialty soaps and lotions. Joan, our hostess was beyond helpful in offering directions, restaurant recommendations or how to get to the best secluded beach. Also, she will apparently serve you dinner as well if you tell her in advance (we definitely wish we had taken her up on the offer). Breakfast was outstanding. I couldn't decide between the omelette or french toast so I had both. The french toast was incredible, so I can only imagine what dinner would have been like.

Joan, our wonderful host was gracious but extremely down to earth. I was amused when upon our arrival and check in she spontaneously declared with great conviction that she simply had to go for a swim, but would back that evening to offer us recommendations for dinner.

Overall, The Orient Inn was one of the best B&B's I have stayed in. I would highly recommend it and am already thinking of when I can return.

My husband and I recently spent our 4th of July vacation on Long Island for the first time. We stayed at a lovely establishment called the Orient Inn. We had a fabulous time! This B&B is tucked away on the North fork. You are situated between Orient State Park (approximately 15 minutes away by car) and Orient Village, which is a quaint community of restaurants and small specialty shops. This area of the island is very bike friendly so we would encourage people to rent bikes in order to take in the full beauty of the area.
Because the beach is very accessible (20 minutes away by bike), we went everyday stayed on the island. Every morning my husband and I were treated to a fantastic homemade breakfast. The owners - Joan and Howard - were very gracious. They were so accomodating and went out of their way to make us feel at home. My husband and I have been to many B&Bs and we would rate the Orient Inn as one of our top three choices. We highly recommend staying at this establishment. We plan to return again in the near future.

This is an excellent inn. The owners are wonderful - very welcoming and accommodating - even down to the water bowl and dog cookie they had placed in our room for our dog when we got there. This really is a great classic inn - and a great place to escape for a few days. Their dog Flower is so cute - and definitely take your breakfast on the lovely front porch. Its a great way to enjoy a wonderful breakfast that is freshly prepared as you plan you day of visiting vineyards. This is a small inn - but we had a very nice private bathroom, very nice linens, robes, and a comfy bed.

We have been to several B&B's and 5 star hotels, at by far the Orient Inn is the best. It has all the charm and romance of a B&B with the same luxurious feel of a 5 star hotel. It was our honeymoon weekend and we were greeted in our room with a bottle of champagne and fresh cut flowers from the garden. The room, as well as the whole house was clean and crisp. The decor and style was polished and elegant. The owner kept the integrity of the house built in 1906 but updated it in just the right ways to make it comfortable and contemporary. The beds were comfortable and we woke up feeling refreshed and restful. The bedroom and private on suite bath was the perfect backdrop to a romantic evening. The breakfast that we woke up to was probably the best meal we had ever had. Joan the owner / innkeeper was friendly, warm, and knowledgeable. The grounds were beautiful and picturesque. We highly recommend staying here while visiting the wineries, kayaking or just looking for a romantic getaway. We plan on going back as soon as we can.

I brought my sister to the inn as part of a 50th BD celebration. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the quaintness and peacefulness of the inn. Joan & Harold were delightful as was Flower their adorable dog. Breakfast was absolutely delicious in a cozy dining room with a fireplace going on a cool May morning. The owners gave us excellent info on nearby sites. We had such a lovely time, I plan on coming back with my husband.
